Mouse Cursor Difficult to Use

I have an issue where I’m trying to use a quest 3 headset and the right touch controller to control flaps and power with motion controls, this combined with using an xbox controller as my yoke. Every time I switch from using the touch controller to the xbox controller, a white dot appears in the center of my screen. It follows in the center wherever I look and is incredibly distracting. Is it possible to use both of these inputs without there being a white dot popping up? Also I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make a new post. I am slow af. Don’t come at me too hard if you decide to respond. Thx

Are you on MSFFS 2024 or 2020? I’ve had some general difficulty in 2024 with trying to use an xbox controller (for camera and walk arounds) with the mouse as my primary.

Good point and the curse of the cursor popup problem is as annoying as ever.
In VR I turn my head to enjoy the view out of the left cockpit window and kablammo there’s that mouse cursor right in my face again :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Update… 2024 is now so very amazing! Especially in VR! It was a very long journey for all of us to finally get here. But I still get that darn mouse cursor popping up in my face, and only at takeoff and again on final. After so many years and so many updates and hot fixes, I swear it seems like the developers have got to be doing this on purpose for a laugh Why on earth does it only happen right at takeoff and then again on landing? It’s beyond my comprehension

Mouse control in VR needs to be fixed (double cursor, fiddly cursor positioning and control, loosing cursor position when looking away for a sec.), it is still a weak point in FS2024. What a difference it will make when the switches and dails will do what you want them to do.

You can automatically hide the mouse cursor with ‘AutoHideMouseCursor’ freeware. The cursor disappears after a period of inactivity (adjustable) and the cursor will appear again if you move the mouse over a certain number of pixels (also adjustable). It is the only app I found that can hide the mouse in VR.

The latest version is suitable for use with motion platforms (on my request), vibrations no longer make the cursor show up as you can now set a much larger number of pixels that the mouse has to be moved to make the cursor reappear.

It got worse! Now it pops up in every move of my head. Gonna try that freeware!

AutoHideMouseCursor works wonderfully in Windows and even in the MSFS menus, but in game in VR in the cockpit, it still pops up in my face wherever I turn my head. It’s gotta be a major bug with MSFS in VR. I really wish they would fix this already after all these years because it’s a total immersion breaker!

My new workaround is to physically pick up the mouse and turn it off, especially during takeoffs and landings. Ridiculous!

Are you using a motion rig or a Butt Kicker?

I found that some mouse devices pick up the motion and “activate” right in your face, usually at the most inappropriate moments. My remedy was to isolate the mouse (actually, I use a Kensington trackball) with 3 small gel pads…

I’m in an H6 with HF8 and 4 transducers. Had same issue in my old Yaw3. Pimax Crystal with controller tracking off. I also have Kensington track ball. The mouse usb is isolated, plugged into computer front usb port by itself. Still pops up in my face every flight. Even ChatGPT didn’t help this issue for me. After spending a total of maybe $25,000 for my entire top-end setup, a stupid little mouse pointer has been destroying my immersion.

I meant physical isolation (from vibration), not electrical!

The gel pads are 15 x 15 mm, very soft and wobbly, and self adhesive. When my rig moves or vibrates, the mouse remains rather motionless - hence no mouse curser pops up.

Try to move your mouse completely off-rig and check if that solves the problem…

Good luck!
