ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

My mouse isn’t working anymore in msfs2024. When I am on the Home Screen, where you should click the start button, left or right click of the mouse is not possible anymore. I can see the cursor of the mouse moving, but can not click anymore. Just can go out of the game via task manager. It’s in the msfs2024 normal version and beta 2 version. I deinstalled and installed the game 8 times. I can go inside the game with a Xbox controller (but I am on a PC, just to say) and when I am going in the settings, I see my mouse but there are no settings available to click or change it. So at the moment I can not use the game with a mouse and this is really annoying. Have anyone a solution for this. This issue started one week ago.
I have my community folder empty, no add ons, game is fresh installed.

No other peripherals, all unplugged. Just keyboard and mouse. One time tried just mouse only without keyboard. Issue stays.

Same here. On SU2. Noticed this happens for me when using the quick settings (top screen hover) for controllers. I use this to for quick on-the-fly changing of my mouse profile since I use it for view height, seat position, etc. After changing between the profiles, clicking no longer works and I would have to exit the sim.

EDIT: Wanted to add that the only workaround I’ve found is to use another controller such as an Xbox controller to navigate around the menus and change the mouse presets back to Mouse 2024 Transversal from being stuck at one of the other presets I have.

• mouse pointer moves, but clicking to start or any menu fails, no way to get back into the game, must do a ctrl alt del and and task.

My problem started with A321LR plane, mouse would not turn on AP or any switch, went into controls to adjust the mouse and white circle spins forever, therefore ctrl alt del end task; uninstalled game several times reloaded from Microsoft store std msfs 2024, still mouse doesn’t activate the start button or anything else on screen, :enraged_face: ctrl alt del end task again to get out.

This is extremely annoying and should not be happening! Simulator is totally unusable

Title: MSFS2024 Freeze After Control Settings Change – No Input from Enter or Left Mouse Button

Hello everyone, same Problem for me in SU2 and SU3 beta!

After making some changes to the control settings in MSFS2024, the sim froze shortly afterward. Since then, MSFS no longer responds to input from the Enter key or the left mouse button.
The keyboard is recognized—I can use TAB to cycle through the UI buttons—and the mouse is also detected, but unfortunately, the left-click does nothing. Because of this, I can’t even start the sim anymore.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Reinstalling MSFS2024
  • Disconnecting all other input devices (yoke, pedals, etc.)
  • Resetting keybindings is not possible since I can’t get into the sim at all

I suspect this is related to cloud-synced control settings that might be causing the issue.

My question:
Is there any way to reset all control settings to default outside of MSFS2024—perhaps by editing or deleting a file or folder—or do I really need to delete my entire user account to get a clean slate?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you also have a keyboard, try connecting just the mouse first and get it working. Then connect the keyboard and see if the mouse still works. You may have to repeat a few times to get them both working.

I have to do this every time I boot up the sim.

Thanks I’ve tried that and nothing. This is a new problem that is exclusive to 2024. 2020 is working great for everything.

Some issue here since a few days. The MSFS2024 freezed after doing some changes in the settings. Trying to restart the simulator, but left mouseclick doesn’t work, even ENTER has no effect. Changing fields with TAB is possible. :frowning:

Same here market place pc version of msfs2024, CTD later updates fixed it, now no mouse and or little to no keyboard functionality, mouse pointer moves now, but nothing happens to the clicks, can’t use the sim at all

I am in Xbox series X and mouse doesn’t work for me either. It is a mixed bag for me. Some sessions, cursor and cllick works in menus only. In the aircraft, no clicks but a moving cursor. Probably 1:12, I will get a working mouse and clickable buttons inside the aircraft and menus. Not swapping the USB ports or anything. I have tried deleting the cache and profile too. It is all a roll of the dice. Mouse works fine 100% of the time in the web browser on the xbox only.

Just encountered same problem. No mouse clicks work. Have any of you found a solution? Can’t rely on Asobo to fix it, as they only pay attention to “votes”. Makes the sim totally unplayable and my anger meter to skyrocket.

Edit: This worked for me. Disabling all peripherals except mouse and keyboard (probably unnecessary), I used the awkward keyboard keys to navigate to the control settings for mouse. By selecting a profile other than “My new profile” I was able to get the mouse to work again. It clearly is a bug that selecting the new profile option for the mouse seems to, at least sporadically, disable left click capability.

• PC MSFS 2024 I have the same problem mouse not working. I have tried all the helpful hints but nothing works. I re-installed MSFS 2024 twice still not working. I see the pointer on the MSFS 2024 game screen but clicking invokes no action/s. I have used Bluetooth mouse and USB mouse no change. I have switched off my keyboard reset my machine still no joy. My mouse works on the windows taskbar while the game screen is displayed.

I ran the following command and uninstalled MSFS 2024 and reinstalled and my mouse worked. The command is given by Microsoft Flight Simulator Zen desk website

• Yes. Open MSFS2024 PC version, loads normally but once on home screen mouse clicks do not function. I have no mods, no addons, no external devices, just a mouse and keyboard. I can use the ESC button on keyboard and space bar to close program but I cannot go anywhere to even look at settings inside MSFS24. This has been this way since SU3. I have yet to play this game in a couple months because of this issue.

• Nothing extra to add. Just like everyone else once MSFS 2024 loads, mouse doesn’t work. Mouse works on all other programs within the PC but not MSFS

Has this really still not been fixed? My mouse interaction in the cockpit is disabled; the cursor moves, but clicks don’t respond. The mouse works in the menu, but not in the game. Does Microsoft suggest reinstalling the game after every bug?
