Hello,
I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue? This first happened two weeks ago, I did a full reinstall and everything worked again. And then after the update today I am running into this issue. Long story short, when in the main menu it will take multiple button clicks for any menu button to work. When in the world map scrolling is almost impossible since it is so laggy, when before it would be smooth as butter. Once you are able to get into a plane same issue occurs, making it almost impossible to click any button or switch since it does not register until multiple clicks. Its so strange, I have had never had this issue since I first downloaded back in March, and then the past 2 weeks just pain. I am on PC, I have the microsoft store version, I have deleted things out of the community folder and reinstalled, all to no avail.
I’m having the exact same issues after the Australia update, sim ran fine up to this point now when on the main menu it’s stuttering and sometimes takes several clicks of the mouse to register a click, I can’t spin the globe and on the ground the same stuttering. I removed and reinstalled the sum, nothing. Upgraded to Windows 11 nothing, now have a unplayable sim and sad as I just recently upgraded my graphics card to a RTX 2070Ti. Any ideas?
Just had another mandatory update get applied on startup that seems to have prompted the sim to auto-detect my system and recommended High settings (accepted) and then it looks like it then reset my mouse and keyboard, asked me about some online connection. It didn’t fix the main menu stutters or multiple clicks I need to make to interact with the menu. At least now I can spin the globe again (was reading the mouse reset would fix that), but it’s not silky smooth anymore like before, I continue to feel a noticeable stutter on the globe along with anywhere in the main menu, only showing 4-6 FPS while in the menu and on takeoff never was that low before. Here’s an example of the frustration factor: I go to left-click into Options to check out my graphics settings, sometimes I have to triple-click or hold down hard on the mouse button, or psycho-click to get it to register in order to enter the menu. I suspect that my frame rate being that low in the menus is causing the stutter and making it feel like I’m multi clicking. Does anyone have ideas, I really don’t want to have to re-install windows again, if that is the fix that’s not acceptable to most people. Why did all this get messed up after the content update? Forgot to add, I have zero issues in any other game on my system be it a Steam-based game or direct install.
Are you sure it’s not just the first click taking a while to respond? I have this issue sometimes. A few months ago it was so bad it was taking about 7-8seconds to respond. A reinstall fixed it, but it does occasionally take a 2 or 3 seconds to respond now.
Seems to be every click, the stuttering effect is so bad that it occurs everywhere in the main menu. You just hover over a menu item, takes forever to respond and the animation isn’t even smooth. It’s frustrating, when trying to even select a departure airport, takes multiple clicks if it responds to select Set as Departure. Then once in the cockpit when I try to pan around using the mouse same stuttering, used to get 40+ fps on high settings now can’t get past 7 fps. I’m reinstalling the sim a 2nd time.
I have good news looks like 2nd time is a charm, I just uninstalled MSFS 2020 then made sure all old folders were gone including deleting cache and packages then reinstalled, now on Ultra settings on my Ryzen 9 5900 - 48GB - RTX2070TI system I’m back to hitting 40fps on the Ultra settings preset. Now it’s back to the glory that MSFS can be, just ordered a faster NVMe HD to move it over to but for now, going to enjoy a few flights and take some screenshots.
