I fly real world Cessna GA 152, 172, intend moving up to 182s. I use flight sim platforms for practice, along with Knobster and Air Manager for touch screen realism they bring. Various radios and gps’s on one airframe can not be found as an option on other airframes, e.g., the Garmin G3X is not found on the MSFS Cessna 172. The capability for adding radios or GPS to an airframe where it isn’t currently installed would greatly add to the practical application and functionality of this simulator for pilots who encounter those on airframes they typically fly. Moving the radio or GPS as an overlay need not fit nicely into the panels, but need only lay over the existing airframe panel in approximate position and size to provide the needed function and utility.
A lot of aircraft are at least allowing for swaps of the GNS with the various third-party GTNs and a few other older navigators, which is a good thing. The G5, GI275, and a host of other swappable aftermarket instruments and navigators are sorely needed. Avidyne? Aspen? Where ya at?
