Another source for inspiration: easily find filming locations for your favourite movies. My recommendation is Luzon (Philippines), where many Vietnam war movies were shot. The epic helicopter attack scene from Apocalypse Now was shot at Sabang beach (Baler bay).

Doesn’t look like it has every movie. I noticed it was missing “Knowing”, which was filmed all around Melbourne, Australia.
I guess you could also propose some locations if you are aware of. At the bottom of the first page there´s some contact info for such thing.
