All things being good, I’ll hopefully be moving from X-Box X to PC.
Do I get to keep the purchased software and add-ons etc?
Are controller settings transferred?
Any other things to look out for?
Thanks

If you are staying on the Microsoft Store version then you would use the same account as your XBOX. You’ll keep the same MSFS version you purchased as well as any Marketplace content.
If you move to the Steam Version you would have to buy MSFS again as well as any Marketplace content.
Controller settings someone else would have to chime in on but since it would be the same profile (again, if using same account for MSFS Store) then it should be in the cloud profile.
I use both platforms. Everything you’ve purchased on the MS Store (if you use that version on PC, which you ought to else you’re buying it again on Steam) will be on your PC. All of your control profiles will be on your PC, but depending on your peripherals, they may need to be redone. Thrustmaster products on Xbox have a switch for PC or Xbox use and I’ve found that my Boeing yoke, for example, is setup differently on Xbox and PC, but my Hotas One isn’t.
Many other sim settings are shared, too.
Sounds great, thanks
I have a Velocity Flight One which also has the PC/XBox switch so maybe it will transfer but no real big job if not.
Are we running Windows 11 or 10 ?
Quite a mix, I am still on Windows 10. but lots using 11 without issue.
I’m on 11.
Ok, thanks, 11 would make sense then
What did you end up going with as far as PC specs? Got your eye on anything?
That’s one nice rig! One thing I did notice was your power supply might not be enough. I’ve purchased Seasonic power supplies in the past and they have a nice calculator which recommends a PS based upon your specific components. When I input your specs it showed a minimum 1000w PS.
Wattage Calculator (seasonic.com)
Both Seasonic and Be Quiet! make top tiered power supplies so I assumed they are interchangeable. I’m sure other manufactures have similar calculators that you might want to verify your new PS is enough.
Good luck!
Thanks, hopefully be ordering stuff today.
I have increased the PSU to 1000W, i used the recommendation on PCPartPicker for the rating but on deeper digging it was too low.
LOL, just realised I am still using a DVD version of FS2020 - the disc has been in so long I forgot about it.
Anyway, the new PC has no optical drive and its an x-box disc anyway so I guess I need to buy FS2020 again?
With a view to retaining as much as possible - should i buy it while still on x-box ??
Question: why 3 smaller SSD’s instead of 1 or 2 larger ones? Or 1tb for C drive and a bigger (cheaper) SATA for holding extra addons?
The version i ordered in the end was -
256gb NVME for Windows system only
1tb NVME for FS2020 only
1tb SSD for anything else
It was always a good idea to keep the system on its own drive in the past and from my research it seems its still true.
Can anyone suggest what i do here
Hi skypilotYTS, I’m using Xbox series X for the last three years and I’ve just purchased a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro which will be dedicated to MSFS. Do I have to buy MSFS and all the aircraft again? Thank you.
If you purchased MSFS on XBOX, no, it will transfer over, just login with the same account and you will have access to your Marketplace Purchases as well.
If you installed the Xbox app (provided it isn’t already installed), you’ll see your copy of MSFS will be available free-of-charge for PC ready to download.
It’s a nice perk of the Xbox Play Anywhere ecosystem.
