Moving Map Companion

Hi simmers,

I started flying in 2023, mostly for sightseeing, and quickly realized I wanted a moving map companion. Over the past few months, I built one using AI coding. It runs alongside with MSFS 2020 on my PC.

Feel free to check it out on GitHub - cozymos/mini-moving-map: A minimalist Google Maps application with AI-powered landmark discovery and 3D exploration experience. .

It’s Web-based and open-source. You should try out the Google Maps 3D view, which is free usage until GA end of this month.

Have fun, and I’d love your feedback via GitHub discussions!

Hi @AloofGazelle974 and welcome to the forums!
I’ve moved your post into this new topic in Discussion Hub > Tools & Utilities so that users can respond here without going off-topic in the “New Users” thread.

This looks interesting - does it work with both MSFS 2020 & 2024?

Will try this out in a few days when I have time. Could be a possible lightweight alternative to the Little Navmap VR Panel, which unfortunately hasn’t been updated for FS24 and has quite some bugs there.

Would it be possible to add a feature that allows you to listen to (and favorite) local radio stations like that tool has?

I just tested. It works with both MSFS 2020 & 2024, relying on Python-SimConnect for connectivity.
