Moving position on free flight map

Hi all, 1st up, the updates have been amazing, luv the sim, and the moderators & community here are excellent also, thanks to all.

My question is this-when going to free flight section & homing in on the area/airport you want to fly-there seems to be no ability to scroll around, left/right, up/down from the area.

Example-I input KISP, it zooms in, but then it would be nice to also zoom out a bit, and move over the map to other nearby airports or points of interest, say by using the right click & holding to move, but you can’t. That would be much appreciated if they added that ability so I can then more easily flight plan routes, airports & navaids in the vicinity. Thanks much.

I don’t understand this. On my world map, i can zoom and scroll and I can set the departure point anywhere I like. Why can’t you?

I can too using the mouse etc. No problems with it. The wishlist item already logged is " why can’t I input the height I want when I select a custom departure point"?

Hi there,
Glad to hear you’re enjoying MSFS!
Scrolling around the world map is actually already possible. I’m not sure why you are unable to, but I’ve put your topic into Community Support, as it seems you may be having an issue with your sim.

Thanks for input, i’ll try, but left click only marks an option of departure, arrival, etc, & right click does nothing.

When you left click and hold the mouse button down?

I will try tonight for sure, I cant believe i’m that mentally challenged, but its possible. Thanks, I’ll see what happens.

**Figured it out! **

Super thanks to all of you, inspired me to keep looking. Had to go into my mouse settings & scroll through the hundreds of settings until found “grab world map” and add the function, by default it was somehow not activated!

Sometimes easier in a real plane lol, but I still luv me my FS2020.

And as a counter to that, I didn’t know that setting existed!

That’s so silly… lol… a mouse action required to be assigned to use the UI… oh boy this sim…
