Moza racing at flight sim expo?

Just saw this tweet from Moza racing who make direct drive sim racing wheels:

Does anyone have any idea what this new game changing flight sim line could be? I really hope they make an adapter that would allow an FFB yoke to fit on a DD base so I don’t have to keep taking down my stuff when I switch from racing to flying.

Wowzers!!! This could be…. tentatively… amazing?!

I’m finding it hard to contain my excitement as I let my imagination run wild after seeing that tweet. But I have to be clear that what I want to see is purely of my imagining and I have no idea what they’re actually going to bring.

In any case it’s good to see another entrant in the market to spur innovation and competition. As far as I know their existing lineup is pretty well received in the sim racing market. They moved fast and came in very aggressively on price.

You and me both buddy!

We are surely both thinking — “affordable force feedback”. Yoke and stick?

I can’t see how they will convert the car racing one as you suggested though because you will need a 2nd axis?

Presumably the pitch axis would be on whatever attaches to the wheel base.

Not sure how they’d manage the FFB for that, although it would obviously be a given for roll.

Yeah I thought that but how could they physically get a long enough push/pull range on something that only attaches to the current drive unit mount. There needs to be a shaft that can go IN to the unit. Anyway it’s all speculation but exciting nonetheless.

Found this from nearly a year ago

Very soon has passed my friend, please now? :face_in_clouds:

Hey @Baracus250, @FL991R and others!

The video Baracus250 shared, showcasing Ikarus, is indeed quite old by now.
It features an early prototype (proof of concept) that wasn’t entirely “sales”-ready yet.

Just like Moza, I too will come with an update for Ikarus in the near future! It will probably be shared on the Roger Roger Engineering website and on Reddit as well I think…

This is the product page for the FFB base: https://mozaracing.com/flight/moza-ab9-base

And this is the stick, although you can use other sticks with their base: https://mozaracing.com/flight/moza-mh16

Thank you for linking those! I’m very excited about the FFB and the clamp from that site looks like a great mounting solution too. I just bought a racing wheel from these guys yesterday and so far I’m very impressed with the solidity and feel of the thing. Hopefully they do the same for their flight peripherals.

I’m not a huge fan of their racing table clamp. Getting a monstertech clamp might be a better idea.

Keep in mind that Winwing is also coming out with a FFB base. Let’s see what each of them can bring to the table.

If the quality of the flight peripherals is even remotely as good as that of the racing peripherals, then other manufacturers will have to make a real effort - in my opinion. Judging by the pictures, it certainly looks like it. As far as I am concerned, MOZA will also be producing the rest of the peripherals - Yoke, Helicopter Collective…

Preorders are open for $550 / 600 EUR for the base and $169 / 199? EUR for the stick. Shipping in 4-6 weeks.

It’s very tempting but I think I’m gonna wait for some reviews from flight simmers. Also not sure how well their SW works with MSFS and DCS. But it’s good there are finally some FFB options, exciting times ahead

Yes same here. My usual itchy trigger finger was close to doing its thing but this time I’m going to exercise some patience to see how it pans out as there really isn’t enough information yet for an investment of this size.

It’s not just another virtual aircraft price!

Plus I already use a FFB2 Sidewinder so I’m already FFB’d up. If there was a yoke at £549 I would have ordered already though!

I would have hoped that a software developer might have seen or wiill soon see, that there are a whole lot of Sidewinder FFBs and Logitech G940s still in use. They are pretty bulletproof and both need just one thing to make them brilliant and that is decent software. It seems that there is a resurgence of interest here and if you are a developer, you might have met your first beta tester.

If they are any good then I’ll certainly be interested.

At the moment I have the Thrustmaster Airbus side stick and throttles and rudder pedals and I dislike them.

The pedals are so sneeze sensitive that the smallest touch of them sends the plane wildly yawing. They are so annoying that I disconnected them and don’t use anymore.

I see that there are Thrustmaster drivers available as well which I didn’t know about or try yet. I may give them a go.
