MS 2024 Controllers

How do i switch to my Alpha & Bravo?

Does the Honeycomb controllers have a default profile in 2024 like they did in 2020, or do we have to set up all bindings from scratch?

I think there is a default. They don’t seem to work.

We have a Thrustmaster HOTAS 4, had to set up everything from scratch. Some googling leads me to believe they “re-wrote” this component and thus there aren’t any (or perhaps many) profiles.

Is the sim even recognizing them?

We also have a Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 and have no idea how to setup everything from scratch. Any idea when it might be supported?

The controller is recognized by name in the sim just all the controls are blank.

My Moza AB9 FF stick isn’t recongnized by MSFS 2024, and Track IR doesn’t work either.

Any ideas? Has anyone gotten Track IR to work?

X52 HOTAS user here. Sim recognizes it but thats about it. I am not about mapping everything myself. Microsoft isn’t looking great at the moment with this launch. The wait time alone I finally get in, career mode is frozen. Got to just about where you walk to your plane and now I am frozen with the ever so calming music and thats it. Worried to reset as I waited a good 5 hours just to see a menu listen to menu music and to not use my Flight stick to actually enjoy this new release. No offense to anyone using the Xbox controller but I play this sim enjoying the devices I have for it. Such a bummer of a launch.

The Tech Alpha had the same problem… Controllers basically just don’t work at all. I tried to warn people of this but was just dismissed by most people who were sure they would fix it by release day. Seems like they have fixed none of the issues I reported and managed to even add some extras for free!

By name for me but thats it.

I have the same experience. I tried my Boeing setup, my HOTAS One, keyboard, mouse, and controller. The only one that was even remotely close to working was the controller. I can’t even look around with my mouse. There are three big game breaking issues I’m facing:

  1. Many of the bindings don’t seem to do anything. Even if I bind them to the correct controls, pressing the control later does nothing in the plane.
  2. The sim doesn’t seem to pick up the physical controls. On the “hardware settings” page with all the axes shown, I can’t get the ball to move on any of these axes with any of my controllers.
  3. I can’t tell which button is which. This is on XBOX, but the name of each axis and button has changed from 2020 and there’s no way to identify them. I could go through and test each one out by trial and error, but the first two problems mean I can’t control for any variable because I don’t know if I’m guessing the wrong name, or if the control isn’t binding, or if the sim doesn’t recognize the control.

I think I’m just going to leave it alone until they fix it. To create profiles from scratch seem like a waste of time (mostly because it’s impossible, but also it seems like if they fix it it’ll just break them again). It’s a real shame as there seem to be real improvements in the sim when you can log in and when it works. But if my controls don’t work I have to stay in 2020.

Mine doesn’t either. I remember Jorg specifically saying TrackIR was working Day one in the sim. I’m losing my patience the more I find the basic things in this new sim aren’t working.

I bought TurtleBeach VelocityOne hotas on Xbox series X. Recognized and all 3 flight profiles worked perfectly on FS2020, 2024 recognizes it but all controls/buttons are messed up, I can remap it but even so, controls still don’t works…

Yeah, same with the Logitech G HOTAS. Even my mouse doesn’t behave like MS2020.

We can take the loading times and the horrible launch, but changing the controls is such a mess.

The sim doesn’t recognize my Logitech switch panel and my Logitech auto pilot yet anyone know if there’s gonna be any drivers for fs2024 yet for those panels?

My old Saitek Cyborg Evo worked with the X-Plane demo AND MS FS X demo without having to program every move. WHY would I have to do it for the full-blown MS FS 2024?!?!?!?

I read the HOTAS 4 will not work with cloud gaming. Seems we need a HOTAS One

I read somewhere that as it is a Cloud game now some controllers will not work. It said to download the game complete… NOT 2024

Yeah I’m using Hotas One but the axis’s are all reversed. In 2020 you had a tick box but can’t find anything so simple in 2024. Any advice please. Also noticed I have square engine intakes on 737 MAX, that should do the fuel figures a lot of good :face_with_peeking_eye:.

Xbox Series X via Game Play

I have the VelocityOne Flight Yoke, Flight Quadrant and Rudder. There is a preset, but I don’t seem to be able to check calibration and the Description box, instead of showing a controller, is blank. I’ve seen YouTube videos where the controller does show.
