With some profiles I detected the same problem, the forces were too weak. Or even it didn’t seem to work. But only with some of the profiles that I configured. Recently I discovered that you must have all the options (stall, trim, taxi, etc) activated. If any of these are not activated, the rest of the forces didn’t work.
For example: In some of my profiles, I only had activated the trim effect. All the other options were disabled. In that case, the trim forces didn’t work. But, when activate all other options, the trim worked again.
O M G - I just tried this and you are absolutely right!!! Great discovery!!
It’s actually usable now! I had given up, but I’ll have to try and remember to use the XPF icon to launch the sim now and get back into that habit!
I have seen Jim write in another thread just 9 days ago, so he is alive… let’s hope he finds some new motivation to keep working on this app!
Thanks for posting this and sorry it took me so long to actually try it and respond. I had lost hope TBH!
I just created a new project on GitHub to collaborate on creating a free open source alternative to XPForce and AirForce player. I can’t imagine the coding is that hard, but it likely will require some community members to help maintain. If anyone wants to join in building this - here is the GitHub repo – omarkmsft/ForceFeedbackX (github.com). In doing some very preliminary research it looks like silk.net might be a good library to leverage as it provides C# bindings for DX11 and I think DX11 has force feedback functionality.
I also wish omszz “GOOD LUCK” …
I suspect it will not be as easy as one might hope. The Developer of FsForce, having developed a good working version for MSFS 2020, then “gave up” after some sim updates, that broke his work.
If he could not get around that with his experience with a previously working FsForce (Payware, so an investment in a Money stream), , I would think the path to success is going to be difficult.
I made something like this by DIY, so I’m looking for information because I think it would be nice to have an FFB other than a neutral back.
I downloaded XPFORCE and read the PDF.
But I don’t understand the important thing.
How much does this software cost?
Where do I pay?
Does a 10 minute test mean you can use the first 10 minutes each time?
(There’s no point in testing it if you can’t pay for it and use it.)
Heck, it looks like he finally took down the site for this abandonware!
Shame, but about time he stopped taking money for something with no intention of support.
I guess there is nothing you can do if it needs a serial number to continue working after 10 mins. I can’t remember how that worked but my serial continues to work (for now…).
If i recall correctly it was being sold for XPlane, FSX and P3D and the fact it happened to work for FS2020 was more good luck than anything else. I think the issue was Asobo had disabled all the FFB api etc from FSX so there was nothing much left to work with.
It used to be a sub, something like $US10 a year or there about.
