Hoping that someone else is using the MS Store version on PC with Norton Internet Security as I can’t add the ‘exe’ file to the exception/program control section in NIS (as it’s showing 0 bytes and located in a strange/unusual place on my HD).
Sorted all the shortcuts out from this forum and everything is working great but I have to manually allow the FS 3 times via popups each time I start which I don’t ever have to do with other programs as I can automatically allow by adding the .exe
If anyone has solved it, please let me know
Thanks
Can’t you exclude the whole folder?
Thanks for this but NIS seems to want an executable and the option to apply only comes up once I enter the folder. When I try to select the actual .exe on HD it just gives me a error popup.
From what I’ve read, looks like it’s only an issue for MS Store version but it’s just a frustration…still loving the sim so much that I guess I’ll get used to it if nobody has a workaround.
Hi,
Not sure if this’ll help - hope so.
Adding Application Exception to Norton Firewall.
Thanks again, this is what I’m following (and have for hundreds of other programs without problems) but NIS wants a path that I can browse to and then I normally just click on the .exe and ‘apply’
FlightSimulator.exe is just special and seems to be some kind of ■■■■■, zero byte executable which must be confusing NIS
Anyway, thanks for trying. I’ll just get used to it and at least it works when I manually ‘allow’ so could be alot worse
Maybe you can find the file where data is stored for exceptions, and add the FlightSimulator.exe that way. Use Processmonitor to see where the data is written and hopefully it’s in plaintext.
