I’m really struggling with connection lost leading to switching to offline mode.
I’ll get a couple of red warning boxes then it’ll switch to offline mode ie Bing data world graphics / photogrammetry off? All other online functions ie live weather unaffected.
My internet connection is solid during those times, connection is 70 up 20 down 19ms. I’m UK based (Sky broadband), I’ve tried different servers but cannot seem to resolve the problem. It appears worse when on the ground but that could be a red herring?
Has always happened to me. Some flights have not a single issue, and some others have several issues, going on/off several times in a couple of hours.
Try with a VPN to discard your ISP (there are a couple of free ones that have an adequate bandwidth for free tier).
I have found that from time to time, my ISP has issues, but they’re very scarce and it affects all of my connectivity. Most of the time seems that MSFS servers have erratic connnectivity.
I’m on a paid one now, but I think several (nordVPN for example but there are a lot) have 30 day money back guarantee no questions asked in case a quick google search doesn’t find a good free one. Maybe this article can help
Now I know it shouldn’t make a difference, if anything you loose a few Mbps due to going via another server / hop … but no connectivity issues during 4 flights today!?!
I also think it’s a smoother experience, which is hard to quantify without going into a whole FPS monitor session!? The photogrammetry looks crisper too!?
