Bringing up MSFS 2020 today it hangs forever “CHECKING FOR UPDATES”. Can shut down with (X) window close, but happens again on next attempt. Ran fine yesterday. No changes to my system – nothing different from yesterday. Internet speed test gives 225mbps down, 180mbps up.

I don’t think this is a “user support” issue, but whatever…
Something bad is happening with the Asobo servers right now.
Beta updates in both sims today, could be a heavy ask of the servers.
Flying the same small private plane I flew yesterday, when it went from Fly to Ready to Fly in less than a minute. Today it takes 2.8 mins. Starting up MSFS 2020 it hangs on the “Checking for Updates” for 5.5 minutes. My fiber optic net connect at 300mbps is good. Rebooting no help. No other software running. I got a “low bandwidth” message from MSFS after plane Ready to Fly, with MSFS shutting off network.
This is not a user correctable issue. It is an Asobo issue. It should not be in the User Support Hub.
