MSFS 2020 is now not accessible (30 November 2024)

I’ve never had a problem loading msfs 2020. Tonight it will not load at all. First I get the checking for updates screen endlessly, then a message appears telling me I have lost my internet connection - no I’ve not as I am sitting directly in front of the hub and can see it working …. plus googling away on the ipad.

Are they now messing with 2020 to get 2024 working better? ‘Robbing Peter to pay Paul?’
I don’t know.

2024 has not read well in the last 10 days, and now 2020 as well! This has to be tantamount to professional suicide on their part.

If you google ‘Review msfs 2024’ it is the top entry. 1.9 stars out of 5. An improvement on yesterday at 1.8.
I’m not sure how you expect to sell any units to those who are not members of the forum here.

I have exactly the same. No way to enter the game. It stops at the Installation Manager with nothing to download and the message that connection is lost.

Yeah I’m getting the same too. Servers are prob heating up somewhere.Looks like its global, im UK

This evening MSFS 2020 (I’m located in France):

  • checking for update takes ages (as it seems to be the case since MSFS2024 is out…)
  • Fails to connect and eventually proposes some kind of “empty” update (“Continue” button is available, though)
  • Then constant connexion lost/restored message
  • Finally a crash to desktop (which I almost NEVER had with my setup, and I changed NOTHING).

Am I the only one ?

I’ve been experiencing problems with the MSFS 2020 online services for about 30 minutes…I’m in Wisconsin. People are also reporting it on the MSFS Discord. For me, I get an error that I’m offline although my internet is working just fine. Then, the system tries to load but eventually CTDs.

Nope, exactly the same here in the UK, in the exact same order you just mentioned it. Assume there are some server issues.
