Hello there!
I tuned my settings a bit back so MSFS would run better. I set it to “High End” and I change the LOD to 80. I save and apply.
Regardless of that, whenever I restart the sim (or sometimes even during flying?) it resets to ULTRA.
Is this a known bug? Can i prevent this somehow?

Just a guess but are you running NVidia Experience? If so you need to disable the auto tune option or better yet just uninstall Experience. (My opinion only, I dislike any software that thinks it is smarter than me. 
)
yes - I am running it - was not aware that it does auto-tune. I think I was able to disable that - let’s see!

Thanks. This could be the solution for me also. I tweet my setup and find (on occasion) that both Monitor and VR settings have been dumbed down automatically. I have a high end system so can’t imagine why it was dumbed down to Medium/Low settings. I also have the NVidia app running in the Systray.
We know you are speaking for yourself @willisxdc. I feel Geforce Experience is smarter than me. Experience also notifies me when updates are available. It is not totally useless.
But, I realized a long time ago to turn Auto Tune off, so maybe I have a little knowledge. I like to think that is called wisdom.
