MSFS 2020 Still Use Old Imagery After 2024 Release

Hello. I thought that MSFS 2020 will use new updated ground satellite imagery on or soon after 2024 release, as mentioned in several official articles. But so far I haven’t found any location worldwide with new imagery. Still old bing maps as before. Mainly in france, eastern and southern europe, asia, australia. and alaska.

It’s not a critical issue. But I would like to know if Asobo can confirm when 2020 will receive new ground imagery and elevation map as promised before. Also I hope the plans will not ever be abandoned.

Thanks.

Same. I’m pretty deflated by what I’m seeing.

Yeah I’m curious what happened. Can Jorg speak to it?

They said in one of the developer streams that it will come a couple of months after 2024 launch. But no specifics for now

Probably not a very pressing item, especially right now… but i agree

They never admit mistakes. And cotton in their ears.

Asobo policy.

I thought they said that the shared world would not come to 2020 for 1-2 months. But 2024 will have new items at release; as per their slide shows at the global event showing as much

2024 isn’t even using any updated satellite or photogrammetry data at launch so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Serious question. Why do you even bother?

I dont bother, im out the game, i was refunded. But I still love 2020, and enjoy roasting arrogant pups. Why do you bother?

So when is that all coming if it’s not there now and why did they say it was launching with new aerials and only that the shared world to 2020 would be delayed?

Frustrating

I’d like to see an official statement from Microsoft confirming or denying the aerials because right now it’s just for users no offense I just don’t know what exactly is true

I contacted MSFS support about this issue. Initially I asked about 2020 and they answered. Then I asked about 2024 but the answer was exactly same. So I think this is for both 2020 and 2024.
