MSFS 2024 CTD on launch

Has anyone else experienced this? CTD every time at Asobo Splash screen. Contacted support. Advised to clear Community folder, no help. Reinstall, no help. Have not herd back from support for 3 days. Have even tried, on a backup drive, reinstalling Windows 11 and installing MSFS, same problem. I’m thinking this may be a problem with MS account.

You could try going through the known CTD culprits. I had a very similar problem with the Sonic Audio driver which I had to disable, sometimes it made it onto splash screen and sometimes I made it as far as the menu but it would crash shortly after. My issue I think was related to the ASUS motherboard.

Support got back to me. Seems it was the msfs cloud save that was the problem. Deleting it would wipe out custom settings and flights but would solve the problem. Sim is now working. Here’s the fix that worked:

HOW TO DELETE YOUR CLOUD SAVE ON MS STORE/XBOX APP

  1. Close Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
  2. In the search box, type “CMD” then select Open to open a Command Prompt
  3. In the window that appears, copy-paste the following command:
  4. start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves
  5. Then press Enter

I was having this problem when I first got MSFS2024. What I did was update my ASUS BIOS, which was over 1 year old, and it seemed to have straighten out. But now, when I try to load a flight from PC it crashes (CTD). The BIOS chip (gen 13) has a flaw which the updates addressed. I think the recent one is due to the last MSFS 2024 update.
