I had this for the first time after installing Nvidia 57x.xx drivers. Never had it before.
Also made the sim freeze loading into the airport a few times (after pressing ‘fly now’).
Reverting back to my old drivers 56x.xx resolved the problem.
Thanks for the advice. I rolled back my Nvidia drivers to the 56 series and that seems to have done the trick. I tried a flight and got more than 2 hours in(transatlantic) as a test, and that’s a lot further than I had managed before. It was late so I didn’t have time to complete the flight so will try another flight within the next week.
Two days ago, I started having this problem too and thought it was due to having bought and installed a couple new airports. I had rebooted lots of times to “lock in” the airports.
I looked at my NVidia driver and saw it got a small auto-update in the same time frame I stared having this issue. I have updated my driver to the most recent as there was no roll back option evident for me. I have one VIP flight in (successful) on the same mission that failed right before. I am flying another one and hope it works too…
Tried rolling back to 566.36, but just had another freeze that I had to manually close the sim. A common denominator for me is that it happens with the A350 and while taking off or climbing around areas with photogrammetry, like LFPG, RJTT, EGLL, SBRJ. I have a 4080super and ferformance is fine before it freezes/crashes so I think it may be related to the VRAM issue under investigation.
I’ve been having this problem for a couple of weeks. During midflight, any airport, plane or mission, my plane will freeze in midair but I can still hear voices, engines, but can’t do anything else. Sometimes it will freeze for 5 or 10 seconds and then resume, other times it’s longer. What has been a work-around for me is to hit ESC, then hit the Resume, and my plane is back to functional.
I’ve rolled back drivers, turned off overclocking, and other suggestions but it’s still happening. I’ve got 64GB RAM, i9-14000K, 4090, so it’s not a horsepower issue with my PC.
Oh, and it’s completely intermittent. Sometimes happening a couple minutes, or even less than a minute apart and sometimes 30 or more minutes apart.
I’m having a similar problem, FS2024 loads with no problem, but the moment I get to the start button the sim freezes. I still have music and the mouse, but anything else on the screen is frozen and unresponsive. I already tried from reinstalling to the suggestions in the thread. On FS2020 I have no problems at all.
After taking of EGLL and few minutes later, my sim freezes. Three times in a row. 64GB, 4080s. Have you find any solution?
Getting the same since last night. It’s been quite stable until this. Cleared the community folder, it had no effect. Rolling back to the 566.36 Driver for RTX 4090 has no effect. I’m stumped.

In the end it was the following link that got me sorted. It will delete your logbook, but career and achievements remain untouched.
Loading issues – Microsoft Flight Simulator Support
It was actually the last step, deleting my cloud save in steam that finally did it.
Cheers
Try without frame gen if you have it on, I tried a few flights with frame gen disabled and didn’t have the sim freeze issue so far but not sure if it is related yet.
It is right! I also found out that while FG is off, it works.
I had already post the report but not sure if it were a bug. You may contribute this issue by voting.
I do yes and its only when I’m using it the problem happens. Is this a known issue with them?
