ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The simulator loading speed is tied to the FPS. If no FPS cap is used it will load as fast as possible. With a cap, the loading time increase is inversely proportional to the frame rate cap.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time on sim load.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Uncap frame rate

  2. Load sim and note loading time

  3. Cap frame rate to 30 fps

  4. Loading time is significantly increased.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

same here i noticed if fps cap at 30, loading is slower

i think this is by design, because it was the same in 2020

i couldn’t say what’s the idea behind it though…

I have a really hard time believing this is intentional.

Really? Oh that’s what it is. I kinda made peace with the fact that the sim now loads waaaaay longer after optimizing the graphics settings, including capping the framerate. But why? Why? why?

2m30s (capped)

1m19s (uncapped)

What?

All this time I blamed those pre-downloaded packages for this increase in loading time.
