General- online- Multiplayer on and choose server
Graphics - drop down global rendering quality ate the bottom Air traffic at least at high, this is also modelmatching so turning this to ultra will help with that.
In Flight Conditions: Wheather and time: preset. Multiplayer All players
Do not touch the live tab or the real time switch (you can use the slider) They will put you back on live players, if you want live weather use the switch. Or select it in the flight conditions.

They really need to address the inability to change the weather without killing multiplayer. This is a MASSIVE step backwards from 2020. I’m hoping it’s a bug, and not a “feature”.
Going by this you can no longer see other players when in live weather mode?
In 2020 “all players” worked perfectly, why remove that option?
I just had a fight with two other players, we all had live weather on but I could only see one of the players. One player could only see me and the other could see 2 of us!

Exactly. The issue is that switching to live weather now automatically changes “all players” to “live players”. It’s extremely frustrating, and the only way to get back to “all players” is to end the flight and go back to the world map screen.
After spending a lot more time in the sim since I lost posted here, it seems it’s not live weather, but live time TIME that’s killing multiplayer. So if the group “leader” is on live time, then everyone else needs to be on live time in order to be able to see everyone. Obviously this can be “fixed” if the group leader just dials the time back by 1 minute.
But the real issue is that we don’t have live weather anymore. Live weather is locked to time of day. So if you dial the time back by 12 hours, it will give you historic weather (ie 12 hours ago). Now, while this is indeed a very useful feature to have, it means that Vatsim flights HAVE to be done on live time. Using live weather is a prerequisite for Vatsim, and the only way to enable this is to be on live time. However, this means that we’re usually being forced to fly in the hours of darkness.
Please give us the option to use live weather without needing to be on live time, ie the way it used to be. It’s a huge enjoyment killer otherwise.
This is fixed in the Beta, you can change your time and weather without being forced onto live players. Also, nametags can be seen much further than the 5Nm than now in 24, hopefully this gets implemented in the next sim update.
You can see all players on the server when starting MSFS 2024. Select “Free Flight” and the world map will display. Zoom in on the map and you will see green aircraft symbols at the location of each player. I was on the West Coast server and scrolled around the map from Los Angeles to San Francisco and east to Las Vegas and Phoenix. All major cities had some players present. My settings were Weather Preset, Traffic Off, and All Players. Now, if we could get this working on Little Navmap, that would be great. See attached photo.
If you hover over the green aircraft symbol, it with show the nametag of the player. These are not live traffic or AI .
