And again…
Do we know when we will get the west server back?
Doesn’t sound like its return is planned.
Well I’m not sure if this is the cause but I just tried a flight and it was a complete slide slow even though my internet connection showed that it was great. I wonder if this is due to the FS Weekend and everyone downloading the new city update? Something is definitely amiss.
I’m flying in SoCal right now in the C172. So far, no issues.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue: I have noticed that recently, the default “Automatic” server is East USA for me and it’s at 71 ms, which may be why I am experiencing lots of stutters! I used to be on West UA (at 12-14ms). Also I noticed, there is no longer an option to go offline with SU5B! Not sure since when this has been happening but I have noticed significant slow down and stutters on my end for the past couple of weeks?!
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Recently, all the time. West USA server is not even an option.
What peripherals are you using:
[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No
[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use? RTX 5090
[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share? AMD Ryzen 9800X3D, 64GB Ram…

Servers retirement are not SU5 Beta related: see above communications from last January:

I am not sure if there was an “offline” option in the servers list, hopefully users can confirm it or not. If this option is confirmed as missing in SU5 Beta, you can always create a new topic specific to this point.
Since it is only related to multiplayer, I guess disabling the multiplayer option in the online settings should result the same.
So the question is, how much impact does not having the option to connect to West USA with latency of 12-14 ms has on the sim compared to East USA which now is the automatic option with Latency of 71 ms? Last night I was trying to play around with the setting and without frame generation, the best I could get was 35-40 fps at a relatively busy airport and stuttery. Low end setting and Ultra did not impact anything whatsoever which makes me wonder if at this point it’s all about the server having a high latency, slowing the game down. This would be a major issue for the sim, if the servers are actually making that much of an impact on the performance of the game. I could claim that all my investments on the Sim which may be more than $10k has been a waist … I have pretty much the best setup one can currently have: 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB Ram, etc.
Have you read this post ?: MSFS 2024 North Europe and West USA servers missing (6-Jan-2026) - #64
The multiplayer servers do not affect anything in the sim that might affect your performance like data streaming, live weather, live real-world traffic, or any other online services*
So your fps performance issue may be somewhere else.
Yes I read it! Just hard to believe considering the large latency difference… But at the end of the day, markets decide the future of the Sim. If the Sim performs it will all be good. If not, people will stop investing time and money on it and go somewhere else. Let’s hope it all works out.
I don’t think anyone’s saying that large latency differences (more importantly, high latency values) won’t cause performance issues - just that they will result in very specific, multiplayer-related performance issues only. General stutters, drops in frame rates, draw distances, terrain quality, etc are all unrelated.
Hello @BossRaccoon7630,
The multiplayer servers that you can select (e.g. East USA, Southeast Asia, West Europe, etc.) only affect which other players you see in multiplayer mode and nothing else. I have confirmed with our Production team that data streaming of scenery, weather, and all other online functionality is not at all impacted by this.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Ok. Thank you for confirmation. Hope it’s all true.
