MSFS 2024 - not starting

Ever since I got the SU2 update, the game is not starting.

I can launch it, things load all the way. I get the screen which shows accessibility or start. when I click on start, I hear my graphic card spin up for a few seconds and then tail off. Nothing happens… I’ve waited up to 10 minutes, and nothing.

I’ve tried multiple times to start, same luck. Nothing. Rebooted, tried again, nada… I also tried going in via the accessibility route, same thing. The game never launches.

any suggestions? (yep, I’m using the latest nVidia driver with my 4090 & 13900K)

also, I do have my community folder moved aside. (temporarily renamed it)

Have you tried totally uninstalling and reinstalling?

2024 is so much easier to do this with (as compared to its predecessor) and it might just be what you need to be up and running again.

This only started when SU2 was released?

Do you have any other graphic intensive software (i.e. games) that launch and run okay on your hardware?

yep, only after SU2.

I run DCS & IL2 flight sims just fine. Plus many other games. Yeah, this is crazy.

I wish there was an easy way to try a new user-account with MSFS, to test if any issue is user-account related. Since the reinstall didn’t cure it, it makes me curious about your MSFS user-account data.

I’m wondering if a Cloud profile reset, or something like that. I’ll dig to find info on that. thanks again for the support

Do you get a Fault Bucket ID when the sim fails to continue its start process?

no fault code whatsoever… just a frozen screen (that has the accessibility and start on it).

I’m going to try the cloud save clean as well.

I can’t any further into the app once I click start… It just freezes up. I’m trying a cloud save remove and reinstall, for grins…

It might help others if they know whether you are Steam, Xbox or Disc. Sadly, I am not that person that knows sufficient computer stuff other than to try Zendesk. Otherwise good luck.

sure, I have the PC / MS Store version.

I’ve performed the Cloud save removal. Plus, did another uninstall and re-install… When I attempt to start, I get 52% into the loading (what the bar says at the bottom), and now the sim is CTD. tried multiple times, and at the same point, 52% results in a CTD…

rats… I’ll keep digging…

I’m giving up for now, I want to fly. So I’ll go back to DCS and fly my F-4E for a while… and then come back at this.
