When I first used 2024, my Thrustmaster HOTAS wasn’t setup at all. I tried binding controls, but for some reason, the rudder config wouldn’t save, everything else did. I stopped using 2024 for a while.
I know one of the patches fixed the HOTAS rudder control bug. It also said it added default mappings. So I went in yesterday to give it a try. THe default mapping has the rudder thrust control. I was trying to slow down the plane, but all it would do is scoot to the right. Why? Why would someone setup as the default an obviously BAD configuration by default for the HOTAS. Its hard to be understanding and patient when things are “fixed” but they make no sense and are clearly wrong.

I use the Brakes to slow down.
I hated the new system at first, but once you understand it, it becomes less of a challenge.
There are certainly some glaring issues, such as bindings not match descriptions of actions in certain aircraft, which complicates the process. However, there is a lot of customisation available.
I’m running the Thrustmaster TCA X Captain pack. I’ve mapped the Cessna 172, Vision Jet, Cessna 208 so far, so if anyone wants any tips, then just ask.
The only issue I’m having is adjusting the throttle sensitivities, which is a work in progress.
Sorry. I couldn’t think of the word at the time. Throttle. On the left side of the Thrustmaster HOTAS, the lever is clearly a throttle. That was how the default was setup in 2020. In 2024, I tried to slow down in the air by lowering the throttle, and I found the plane skewed to the left or right. They by default for some reason decided to map the throttle lever to the rudders, which makes no sense at all. Particularly since you move the throttle up or down, and it is skewing the plane to the left or right. Its like the worst control on the HOTAS to map to the rudders.
