MSFS 2024 PLN Files for 2020 Bush Trips – Try Them Out!

Last year, I built a website featuring navigation logs for MSFS 2020 bush trips, as I found the in-game nav logs took up too much screen space. Since then, I’ve been flying them using the logs on a tablet beside me. I was really excited for MSFS 2024 and its new bush trips, but I was disappointed to find none included. That got me thinking—since I already had code to extract nav log data, I could adapt it to create MSFS 2024 flight plans for the 2020 bush trips.

Over the weekend, I worked on this and managed to generate 2024 PLN files for those trips. I’ve added them to my site at the top of each bush trip page. Each download is a zip file containing a PLN file for every leg of the trip. If you’re interested, please give them a try and let me know if you run into any issues. A few notes about the PLN files: I tested most of them on the online flight planner (https://planner.flightsimulator.com/). Some airports exist in MSFS 2024 but not in the planner. For those, the plans didn’t work in the planner but imported successfully into the EFB in-game.

The only one with issues loading into the EFB I have found is “Greenland Exploration”, because airport SU01 does not exist in MSFS 2024.

I’m still trying to figure out where to put .pln files in 24. Where?

At the bottom of the EFB there is a load . It can load it from anywhere there.

I’ve just started converting and am trying out my FS2020 bush trips in FS2024 (ones I created). Reports so far:

  • No navlog widget yet but the flightplan is showing in the EFB screen and on the avionics (at least on the DA62)
  • Bush trip leg completes as normal
  • No custom loading screen (map with blue route)
  • Engines are off when starting new leg
  • Can only view completed legs (and preview pictures) from the starting/selection screen

I’ll see what else I can find.

I have added the new World Update XIX: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana bush trips to the site as well. On the all download page I have added a link with a zip of only the new plans.

Wow! This is a fanastic piece of work; thank you. I’ve loved doing the bush trip in 2020 and now that I’ve updated to PC with 2024 I really wanted to do the exploration with the better visuals. This feels like it was a lot of work, I wouldn’t know where to begin! So thanks agin for the time and effort.

The new Australia World Update bush trip is now live on the site as of this morning. One small note: the final‑airport photo wasn’t included in the original bush trip package, so there isn’t an image for that location yet. If I get a chance, I’ll grab an in‑sim aerial screenshot and add it to the page.

Thank you so much for uploading the flight plan to your website; it’s such a fantastic resource, if , like me, you only fly 2024. I actually prefer doing them in 2024 because what interests me is the scenery and location rather than completing a task. That’s this afternoons flight sorted out. :clinking_beer_mugs:
