MSFS-2024 SimBrief Credential Fail ..... Still!

I just found out that the new EFB in MSFS-2024 does not work with the aircraft which have the SimBrief EFB built in.

Based upon my read of these forums, I just joined a rather large number of users that made the assumption that as the new EFB “works” in these aircraft, the pressing on “Send to FMS” would actually do that. It isn’t greyed out, so it must work.

Apparently not. You need to use the SimBrief EFB which Inibuild configured their aircraft to use. No problem. I did that for years in MSFS-2020. Easy as pie!

Nope.

What exacerbates this situation is that I have had no luck entering my SimBrief credentials in the SimBrief EFB options page. There are many posts about hacks and work arounds in many of these forums, but none have worked.

So I was happy to see the developers post the long list of improvements and fixes this week. I assumed that as many of the default airliners in MSFS-2024 had been developed by Inibuild which include the SimBrief EFP, the sign in issue / bug / Wishlist item would have been addressed.

Apparently not, at least not for those that not only decided to buy MSFS-2024, we also bought an Xbox Series X from Microsoft. I just loaded the update, updated one of my favourite SimBrief flight plans, and started a free flight. I entered my SimBrief credentials in the SimBrief EFB Options page and hit enter. I then saw that now familiar error message that I needed to load my SimBrief credentials.

This issue is already in the Wishlist Forum, and in the Bug List Forum. And its scattered throughout the General Discussion Forum.

That this hasn’t been addressed makes no sense. Many of the default aircraft cannot have flight plans sent to the FMS from the MSFS-2024 EFB because Inibuilds has configured them to work with the SimBrief EFB in which you cannot enter your credentials.

I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football…

Make sure you pay close attention to what the input field is asking for. Some ask for your “Simbrief ID”, which is a six-digit number you can find on your account details page in Simbrief. Some ask for your “Simbrief user name”, which is the name you chose to use in simbrief. I know that the iniBuilds EFBs are looking for the six-digit number - hopefully that’s your issue and you can fix it lickety-split.

Otherwise… maybe some sort of firewall issue or something?

Nope. I have used both. No firewall issue. Have you been able to load your credentials and use the SimBrief EFB? Your question implies that you have.

It appears to now only affect Xbox users

I’m on PC, so indeed it may be an Xbox issue. I’ve used the iniBuilds EFB load-in (for both their Asobo-commissioned planes and their separate A300-600) successfully with no issues. (And the Fenix, but that EFB is basically independent of the sim entirely.) I don’t use the Simbrief menu addon option that you can add through Navigraph Hub, and haven’t seen a way to import a simbrief plan into the sim’s EFB (I had to enter the route manually when I was using the Max 8), but my manually-input route did flow into the plane’s FMC when I used the EFB’s button.

Wish I could be of more help. Sorry. :frowning:
