Stuck on 97% long loading again, been happening since around the same time the 2020 issues started yesterday, but still ongoing. It’s the same with empty Community folder or not. 
I just opened up MS2024 and it took little over 2 minutes.
Moved to User Support Hub User Support Hub > Install, Performance & Graphics for community assistance.
Seems to be working again now. 
Same thing here, stuck at 97%. What a waste of time this flight simulator has been.

Same problem. I had installed a livery from flightsim.to. After removing this livery the start up was normal again.
Today i have this issue too, i dont know why, I will move the community folder and reinstall it. its really wasted time for this behavior.
Honestly, I put off the purchase of 2024 because of all of the trouble I read about it. Figured I would let them work the bugs out before I buy. Then for some dumb reason I decided to try it out. There have been a mixed bag of response some good some mediocre and some still complaining about. Well I bought the Premium Deluxe last night from Steam. It installed easily, it ran me through the setup and configuration. I was anxious to see the graphics in VR, and was like a fresh bottle of Heinz Ketchup that would not come out of the bottle.
I pick the Cessna 172 for my first flight. I selected my departure and arrival in free flight. Clicked on Fly Now or what ever they call the yellow button now, and it went to a cloud scene with the little tornado spinning in the right hand corner. It hung there for probably 20 minutes, then the tornado disappeared and I waited for over an hour. Then I hit escape, and attempted again. The same thing happened. Third times a charm right, wrong it now stuck over my departure site and sat there.
So in frustration, I decided to back out of the game and it crashed!!! So I tried to execute it again and it went to 90%, then 91, then 92, and all the way to 97% and stayed there all night last night.

However, it’s not your fault that I gave you a chance last night to get it right. It’s my own faulty for having a little faith.

Good afternoon all, I’m having the same issue. I was able to get the games to start after renaming my community folder to community test. The game restarted fine then I put the community folder back and forgot to turn on all the add-on programs such as Navy graph Sim link And fly by wire software. The game started without that the minute I restarted all the game would not start and it stopped at 97% so now I’m investigating if one of the add-ons is possibly causing this problem.
Supposedly MSFS2024 does not have a community folder so which folder did you rename?
U r lucky. 4 months without being able to. Uninstall/reinstall and never gets past 97%. What a waste of $$ but I should have known because MS is terrible.

Reset hosts file - it might be causing loading issues.

ISSUE FIXED !
You are right ! The “hosts” file had been modified by the “MSFS Map Enhancement” addon that I had installed from the “flightsim.to” site !
This piece of software adds the following mappings in the “hosts” file :
127.0.0.1 kh.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
127.0.0.1 t3.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
127.0.0.1 t2.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
127.0.0.1 t1.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
127.0.0.1 t0.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
127.0.0.1 khstorelive.azureedge.net
127.0.0.1 cdn-shared-wca-endpoint.azureedge.net
127.0.0.1 sunriseworld.akamaized.net
If for any reason you reboot your system without havig stoped “MSFS Map Enhancement” then you are stuck with the issue !!!

We’re glad this resolved the issue for you. We’d highly recommend not installing modifications of this nature in the future, as they can have quite adverse negative impacts on your sim, without you even realising!

Yes Chewwy94, I think we should get in touch with the author of “MSFS Map Enhancement” at “flightsm.to” to draw his attention over this harmful behaviour.
