All the texture appear blurry despite Ultra settings , high speed net and high end RIG.
I am back to MSFS 2020 ,sometimes I feel 2020 could have been just improved with 2024 in ground details, vegetation and other feature as an additional paid upgrade. This platform of msfs 2024 is completely unstable,
I wish there were some laws to protect consumers into selling unfinished product that are not ready to release , what was shown on trailers , by getting in promoters to promote msfs 2024 before release is now appearing like a trap.
Seems someone is taking full advantage of monopoly.

Im on 2020 mostly and tried 24 yesterday after some weeks. First thing I see, propeller animation not working in all default planes. It always starts with small things like this and I really dont have the time and energy to go through another 4 and a half years of fiddling around with settings, updates, drivers, stuff, etc etc…Try this, try that, works for me, not for others, if it doesnt work, try the other thing. So i feel your despair. 2020 is running like a workhorse for me and is finally the sim I wanted it to be years ago! So looking back at the evolution of 2020, I might get back to 24 between su8 and su15 LOL.

There was a thread that was posted about not being ready for release.. This thread reminds me of that thread…It was just after the MSFS 2024 was released in November..

Total bag job on their part.

Similar experiences…
VFR around my area has overly dense vegetation, the wrong vegetation, uninspiring house/blobs, so as to be unusable for VFR, for me.
But beyond that SU2 CTDs, changed key bindings for no reason I can gather, editing controls is a chore, most everything about the sim feels like a chore, and based on Steam’s ratings “46-52%” agree. I prefer the 2020 VFR local neighborhood experience.
How many months in are we? Wish they did a code freeze to allow for a significant stabilization effort in their product. Slice it lots of ways and their customers’ trust has eroded. Not that it’s fair, but let’s pretend this was Cyberpunk - then, there’s another year+ until something resembling a product that is not a chore to use, and the player’s effort goes towards simulation time and not non-functional wtf is happening time.

I was thinking of removing FS2020 but no more. FS2024 is unstable and unusable.

It seems like it matters exactly what you want to do with this sim and how you use it. I’m really not using MSFS 2020 anymore. For my purposes MSFS 2024 is just better overall. I fly on VATSIM / PilotEdge for my ATC, use Navigraph, SimBrief, SkyVector for my flight planning and charts, ActiveSky for my Weather, and have high-quality addon aircraft and scenery.
Textures are not blurry on my end.

I think a more relevant question ( with apologies to the OP) would be “if MSFS2024 was released today in the state it’s currently in - SU2 - would you consider it ready for release?”
(It obviously wasn’t in an acceptable release state in November )

In MSFS 2020 , I disable AI generated buildings , and use only satelite imagery which is much more realistic and satisfying atleast it looks exactly as real
Still using FS2020 but every once in a while I open FS2024 to see if it is stable and working well and then I close it and go back to FS2020 or switch over to X-Plane 12. Really sad that the “creators” chose to release an “alpha” version just so they could make a lot of money before the holidays. Hopefully with in this calendar year things will get better with more updates. Until then I will keep using FS2020. FWIW

MSFS 2024, was it ready for release? No it was not.

I would agree it wasn’t ready on launch, but not just the client. They did not provide enough infrastructure for it to work efficiently either.
Those issues are less of a concern now since they beefed things up, and the release of SU2, and the ongoing SU3 beta.
Thank you.
I like these direct answers. Saves a lot of time.
The answer to the question on the topic is ABSOLUTELY NOT.
And that’s not an answer of mine, it was Microsoft itself who recognized that the launch was a complete disaster.
That said, I agree with some of the posters above that since mid December I moved to 2024 and never went back, because it’s acceptable for me now (I mainly fly the FBW 320 with Simbrief, Navigraph and BATC). Each one may have their own reasons to choose one or another, but for me is that I can fly and launch times and performance is much better than in the 2020 case.
Yes I can’t fly some of the planes in my hangar, I cannot visit certain airports, but fortunately those cases are the exception, not the rule.
Anyway, the new sim has still a lot of work to be done. I think everyone is concious of that, starting from Microsobo (and that’s the reason IMHO of the frenetic pace of betas/releases)

For me, the interesting question is whether it was wise for Microsoft to proceed this way. With MSFS, a very large success has been achieved. It was no coincidence that it was named Game of the Year. With these accolades, the next version was presented to us, the customers, and accordingly, the expectations were high. Now it was up to Microsoft to decide whether to release the product or not due to the still open bugs. What has come out of it, we all know. It is now up to Microsoft to regain the lost trust.

I live in South Africa (Cape Town) and our Iconic Table Mountain looks disgracefull. In 2020 there was a free 3rd party download from www.flightsim.to. There is an update but its not looking the same as 2020. In Cape Town and on Table Mountain there are trees that should not be there. So I am loosing interest in continuing with 2024.
Not only was it not ready for release when launched, we’re half a year in and it’s still sub par.
The sad part is that we all paid the same or more for it than, say, the latest call of duty, because we are hooked, but there is no reprisal - Asobo are very sorry and are feverishly trying to fix it, but we have all been taken advantage of, and when it’s time for the next iteration, we will have the same honey dripped into our ears…
