MSFS 3.0 (1988) vs MSFS 2020: Oakland to San Francisco

I recorded a quick Cessna flight from Oakland to San Francisco in Microsoft Flight Simulator 3.0 from 1988, again in MSFS 2020, and combined the two recordings for your amusement!

Interesting differences: Oakland’s runways have been renumbered due to magnetic north changing (27R to 28R), Naval Air Station Alameda was still open (closed in 1997), and the east span of the Bay Bridge has been replaced (completed in the 2010s, after earthquake damage from 1989). There are more skyscrapers in downtown San Francisco, but beyond that the biggest changes are just the graphics detail…

And of course… there’s no GPS! :open_mouth:

Had some trouble landing in 3.0 thanks to keyboard controls and confusing visibility with the pixelation but made it down sorta.
