Not implemented yet, but all of this is a work in progress.
Thanks! Im extremely happy!
Excellent progress on this. The plane really has a nice feel to it, and I love the new dial lighting.
Seems there are no problems with the latest sim update - just did a 1 hour flight, all good.
It seems to pull ever so slightly to the left a bit now, but it did this just before the latest MSFS update anyway. I thought it might be the wind but it still pulled left after a 180. Controller checked as calibrated and dead central with 2% null zone.
Is it intentional from the real aircraft (a bit of torque etc?)
I checked the weights, 170 and 170. Canāt trim rudder of course on the C152 so have to hand correct slightly. Really looking forward to the next update. I check all of the time! ![]()
Iām glad you are enjoying it!
The plane does naturally pull to the left side a touch which would be exaggerated by some wind, this is in keeping with how the real world bird flies!
Massive work is taking place for the release of V1.0.0 (our first major release), it may take a little while longer than I hoped, but honestly, itās going to be totally worth it!
There is a teaser video here and this doesnāt even show half of whatās going to added ![]()
I will keep everyone posted where I am up too!
Both rudder and ailerons are trimmable in the C152 if you wish so. Just assign button/axis to the proper command in the control option panel.
Thanks Gnampolo! I forgot about the option to do that.
I have just tested the C152 mod and it is absolute impressive and wonderful! Brings the old and most classic Cessna to the next level. Beautyful to fly at night, wonderful work.
Excellent work @N95JPL, reminds me so much of the plane I trained in 20 years ago. One question, is there a way to increase the brightness of the radio lights while flying in the daytime. Today I was flying in clear bright sunny skies, the radio frequencies were too dim, had to lean forward (was in VR) to read them. Looking forward to the new version!!
Thanks for the excellent review!
Thatās the aim of the game, make it as realistic as possible!
Iām regards to the NAVCOM Stacks, in V0.9.9 if you turn up the knob which changes the panel lighting brightness will increase the NAVCOM displays too!
This will change in V1.0.0 and they will be on full brightness permanently again!
Hi,
Sorry to talk about that again, but OAT gauge scale between °C and °F always needs a fix (and needle position to be corrected also when texture will be good). It is a detail, but perfection is in details ![]()
Anyway, thx you for your huge work and sharing it. Even me, not a real pilot has already pilot a real C152 and it is a pleasure to use it with your mod.
Just tried out this mod in my sim.
Have to agree that the improvements are very noticeable and welcome in the cockpit.
Gotta say though, that in the flight dynamics area it definitely feels like a much heavier aircraft than the stock MSFS version. Takeoff roll and climb out seem longer and it doesnāt feel as agile on turns.
I was pleasantly surprised that my copy does NOT demonstrate a tendency to roll either left or right. Flies straight and level trimmed out.
Are these characteristics considered by experienced pilots to be a lot closer to the real C152?
I like it! Thank you for this, JPLogistics!
@N95JPL Hi, I have a lot of respect for anyone who can make cool mods like this one, so thank you very much! Since you are working on version 1.0, I would like to make some suggestions for improvements and bug fixes (and ask a few questions):
-
thermometer to be fixed (already reported)
-
oil pressure: it is always almost at maximum. is it correct?
-
take off trim: the trim lever set on the label ātake offā is not enought for take off, but you must always trim much more downwards (with any weight on board). Is label position wrong, or are the trim data āāwrong?
-
Shock absorber / front carriage spring: the real C152 is much more sprung (it is similar to the Diamond DA40TDI in the simulator): yours is too stiff.
-
It would be nice not to use the āspeakerā lever to illuminate the panels, but make a special one. For the panel, you could collaborate with @fsce who created this mod:
https://it.flightsim.to/file/3828/cessna-152-realism-livery -
The allowable take-off weight is lower than default Asobo 152: is this correct?
-
Propeller: it would be nice to integrate this modification by @OSM into your mod:
https://it.flightsim.to/file/3412/10-propeller-mods-for-the-fs2020-standard-edition -
Finally: is there any possibility to having some sort of āpersistent stateā with your mod? To begin, it could be the storage of the payload and the left fuel at the end of each flight.
Just a quick question. Does this mod handle more like the real thing to you, than the latest default C152?
Please NO!! This mod makes the propeller effect almost totally invisible.
no, int would not be nice. ![]()
I donāt know guys.. I donāt remember if in real life our eyes and brains filter the āpropeller viewā and make it almost āinvisibleā.. My last real flight was some years agoā¦
My last real flight in a prop-job was centuries ago in a C123 āProviderā.
But I do recall that the props all had painted blade tips, not for decorative purposes but to make them more visible.
Happy I found this. My 2 greatest issues with the default at the moment are the totally useless magneto checks, and the extremely positive value on the ammeter all the time. Iām guessing this has been fixed in the mod⦠Gonna give it a try right now ![]()
Ok, the magneto checks are now working, but the ammeter is still ridiculously high while cruising. Hope to see that fixed some time! Cheers!
