MSFS_C152 Community (V1.0.0!) - Updated: 09/10/2021

Also, I still do not get the problems with the stock 152 trim. With this mod (I use buttons on a Saitek throttle) I can trim up/down comfortable without any problems. The stock version seems to be too sensitive - after small adjustments (using a keyboard or the Saitek controls) the plane often climbs or dives too much.

Heya!

Is this mod discontinued?

We’re here, I’ve been otherwise engaged for a while!
But we have things lined up

I am using the C152 JPLogistic and would like to remove the passenger, but I can’t. Does anyone have any solutions?

You either leave the pilot weight in MSFS weights screen and delete the default copilot, or you click on the XPDR button (rightmost at the comms panel).

Edit: SPKR, not XPDR.

Right most yellow audio button that says SPKR.

I have been unable to get this plane to appear in the sim. Tried all instructions. It says that a separate plane appears, but it doesn’t.

Ensure you have the file structure as ā€œCommunity/jplogistics-c152/{random folders}

Make sure it’s not ā€œcommunity/JPLogistics_C152_Beta9/jplogistics-c152ā€ or that will fail

It will appear as 2 new planes with different screenshots as the images shown.

If it still doesn’t appear, send me a picture of how you have the download set up in the community folder

Make sure you are using latest Release and not the Development branch from GitHub

Many thanks for the timely reply! As soon as I can get to my pc, I look forward to getting your plane! Particularly, I look forward to viewing my gauges with lighting!

Note that the naming of the plane in the aircraft selection is JPLogistics not Textron and is therefore not next to the other 152s, but higher up.

Please change it to Textron Cessna 152, everything else breaks the immersion.

There goes that IMMERSION world again !!!

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

@N6722C and @LovesickChief13, me, being a Baptist, use that word a lot, but not when I’m in my flight sim… :upside_down_face:

Josh,

any update soon?

This is meant as a constructive critique, and if I didn’t love this mod so much I wouldn’t have bothered writing all this down.

  1. JPL_C152 fails pre-flight:
-On visual inspection left wing flap connecting rod appears detached (in real life this plane would go straight to Maintenance).
-Missing registration certificate and Pilot Operating Handbook (in real life AROW is actually part of the pre-flight checklist. Registration tends to be inside a sleeve taped near left door, POH tends to be stowed inside the backrest pocket on one of the seats).
-I love that tow bar in the baggage section in the back. And it would be even better if we could also see a bag with the fuel sump and fuel dip-stick next to it.
-The fuel selector switch and many of the panel label textures flicker a lot. You have to be zoomed in for them to stop.

These are just cosmetic changes. But so far I wasn’t able to find a Livery that solves any of these things.

  1. Immersion:
-I am not a fan of the pilot and copilot holograms, or the autopilot that disappears in front of your eyes when you hit the speaker/phone button on the ground.
-Any way to disable the yoke hiding functionality? I have no problem moving and zooming around in the cabin until I can see whatever switches and buttons are behind the yoke (I have yet to see a real life Cessna where removing the yoke mid-flight is an option).

Solved my copilot hologram problem by editing ā€œflight_model.cfgā€ to call for 0 pounds ā€œstation_load.1 =0ā€, and pretend I’m flying solo. I’d have no problems tinkering with cfg files to disable yoke hide, disable the speaker/phone switch, disable whatever buttons that trigger pilot/copilot avatars, make radios be set to off by default, etc. But I need assistance on exactly what to change.

If I had my way, I would much rather that all the pimped-out options be added to JPL_C152_Fairing only, after all fairings on C152s are not something you see everyday. I would love a minimalist JPL_C152 with nothing fancy and only immersion-friendly options.

Why does a name break the ā€œimmersionā€?
The model is still ā€œCessna 152ā€ because that’s what it is? But JPLogistics splits it up, like FBW have named theirs

There’s a biggy coming! We aren’t releasing it till we are happy!
C152 V2.0 jumping a whole version, but I assure you, it’s worth the wait

I hadn’t thought of adding document models!
I’ll add it to the future list!

Everything else is either already part of the next update or on the bug list!

The new update will have 3 models

  • Classic/Barebones (like default but with opening doors still etc)
  • Modernised
  • Modern+ (name WIP)

I’m glad you’ve found how to hide the copilot, everything is hideable by clicking the right switches, there’s messages in the thread about it.

For V2 release when it comes I’ll do a video showcasing how everything works

As for the ā€œDisable yoke hideā€ hmm.. we haven’t been asked about that because most people need it to be hidden to easily get some switches so I haven’t implemented it
… let me think about that one, you don’t have to click it

As for hiding the autopilot etc, that’s because people asked to be able to hide them… so we did, however like said above, V2 changes how this works, it’ll be controlled through a EFB and once you set the aircraft to how you like it, next time you load the same livery it will load back to how you left it.

Everything like AP etc will be available in all our models, however, dependant on which ā€œvariantā€ you choose in the EFB on setup then that’s how it’ll look

Thanks

That’s OK, I’ll just pretend the yoke retaining screws have been removed.

But seriously, thank you for all the work you put into this amazing mod and still have it as freeware, and for your responsiveness to feedback.
