MSFS Color Changing Paint

Hey all,

Does anyone know how to paint the aircraft so that the color of the paint changes as you move the camera? Asobo has pulled this off with one of the default CJ4 liveries, changing from green to blue to purple based on how you look at it.

I tried to look at the files for this texture to see if I could find how its done, but the file has no useful information to see how its done.

Hey there,

As far as I know, the color changing effect you’re referring to is achieved through a technique called “vertex coloring”. This technique allows different parts of the aircraft model to have different colors depending on the angle they’re viewed from, giving the appearance of a color changing effect.
