Yeah I was thinking that I’d do that. One for aircraft, liveries, scenery etc.
Yea or even deeper for some of it:
Airports/
— America
— UK
— Europe
— Asia
Etc
Scenery/
— America
— UK
— Europe
— Asia
Etc
Liveries/
— Cessna 152
— Cessna 172
— Goose
Etc
Aircraft and tools can stay flat as they are obvious but this way at least you can multi select and find things easier ![]()
Sounds like a plan. Cheers ![]()
Youre talking about the add ons for the ingame store purchases. I’ve seen the area where you do that in addon linker , but haven’t ventured to try it,
and probably wont now!
Seems like a good idea, but there are all those warnings. I think I read that it’s easier for in game marketplace add on toggles to be set by editing a text file to enable/disable them can’t remember which one. I wish there was a way to do this in game though.
Add on linker does work fine for managing all non marketplace add ons though, but I do find tgat I have a growing amount of marketplace addons too.
Edit: I found the ref to the text file edit to enabling/disabling add ons from marketplace. Havent tried this myself yet though.
That seems very long winded, that.
I can’t use the addon linker as it corrupted my community folder so I’ll just be moving items out of my community folder into a desktop folder as and when. Try and keep the number of installed addons down to a minimum.
You can just create a sub directory in community for that purpose. Until I started using add on linker I was using one called 1HIDE so it would appear first in my listings. Any add on placed down one subdirectory isn’t found by FS.
I’d like to use the addon linker really as it’s a great tool, it’s just not playing ball with my sim. As I said earlier in the thread to be fair he does warn on the readme file that sometimes the MS store versions end up messing up the folder etc.
That is only in the tools->options->advanced section relating to official store add ons though. It doesn’t mess anything up for community folder add ons. All it does is create symbolic links to add on folders located elsewhere, that’s it.
The readme seems to indicate that it can affect the community folder also.
In any case, it seems to have corrupted it. It may be down to my own stupidity, it may be something unrelated to the linker. Regardless, I’m not going to take any chances, I’ll just limit what goes into the community folder and move mods in and out between folders manually. Time consuming, yes potentially. But I’d rather not risk it, as I say.
And very annoying when using the flaky SDK!
