MSFS freezes for a few seconds after idling in cruise

Hi!

Got a new PC and got a strange issue that I never experienced before, thinking it could be something to do with DX12 and frame generation.

So the sim runs great, but after I reach cruise and go AFK for a while the sim stutters/freezes for a few seconds when I come back and use the mouse. With most planes it’s not a problem, it comes back after a few seconds and I can continue the flight as normal. But today I flew the Maddog, and efter the freeze happened, my engines turned off. So that wasn’t great…

The plane is still flying fine before I click, and I can even pan around using my joystick, but as soon as I click with the mouse it freezes.

Anyone else with this problem? I run DLSS 3.6 in MSFS and Nvidia driver 551.86.

Do you have “sleep” enabled on any USB ports?

If you mean the USB “selective suspend” setting it was on, so I turned it off. Will do some more testing and report back.

I think that did the trick, thank you!

Actually it’s still there, but I think it’s a little bit better than before.

I managed to solve the problem by manually deleting the shader cache inside the “DXcache” and “GLcache” folder.
