Hi, can any owners of the Kosmosima grip please tell me if the area circled in orange is made of metal or of plastic? A couple of videos make it look like it is plastic. I’m not sure if there’s a difference between the premium and standard versions.
I’m about to grab a used one to butcher for parts and I’m hoping it’s metal.

Ohh, i have one of the first Standard for Lefthand.
Don’t feel like unscrewing it, but I think the construct corresponds nearly to this one.

The one I’m getting is a left hand one too.
The reason I ask is that this video appears to have a plastic one. The ones I have MCG Pro and ultimate have metal. I don’t think the plastic will tolerate what I’m using it for.

It does have a hole in the video, but not sure what base it is from. it also has a brass screw insert which makes me think it’s plastic
For the Gunfighter I only know metal. Should work.

yes - on the mcg it doesn’t have the brass, it’s tapped straight into the silver alloy

@dogmanbird72 Alternatively, if you want to put a VKB Gripp on a different base, I have taken the ends of the extension for my SidewinderFFB Mod.

Do you use the FFbase as a usb device, and the VKB base to communicate with the VKB grip as another usb device? I was under the impression the MARS sensors are encoded/encrypted

I leave X / Y to the Sidewinder. The handle itself is attached to an old NJoy32 circuit board.
You would have to ask VKB whether this board is also possible, select different handles via the software.

VKB have confirmed it’s a plastic part.
I had an opportunity to buy a very cheap used kosmosima grip and was going to use the part above as the base of a 45cm extension, and the grip on top (with no twist). I don’t think it will tolerate the stresses.
