MSFS Marketplace VS Vender Direct

I am planning to buy a GA aircraft (my first payware purchase) from Justflight. The aircraft is offered in both the Marketplace and on their website. I know that buying it from the marketplace decreases JF profit since they have to pay a commission. But this is my question…
If I buy the aircraft directly from their website is installation automatic or do I have to jump through hoops to install it? Also, would MSFS update ever cause me to have to reinstall it manually (assuming I can reinstall it from the Marketplace with a click or two)?

TIA

You just get the link n the email from JF. Download the installer, next, enter the license key, next finish. Job done.
And you’ll get updates to the aircraft much more quickly than via marketplace.
No hoops.

Thanks. I really wanted to buy direct, so I will.

The nice thing about JF is that when you set up your account, you get points towards future purchases. I’ve spent about £50 in the last year and have £8 that i can use towards my next purchase.

The one advantage of buying from the marketplace is that all your purchases are in 1 place and the update happens in game. You get a notification, you update in content manager and done.

The down side is that it can take an eternity for updates to products to hit the marketplace compared to the 3rd party vendors.

A big benefit from buying outside the marketplace, which I think outweighs some other concerns, is the planes are not encrypted so can be more thoroughly modified if you want to.

More profits to the developers, and quicker access to updates are icing on the cake.

Also, you don’t have to worry about having to re-purchase the Add-On should you change game versions. (Eg. Steam version of MSFS to Gamepass and vice versa etc.)

Basically, Marketplace Purchases are Non-Transferable.

Thanks, guys for the replies. I pulled the trigger on my P28R. I bought it direct. I’m a big advocate for wanting devs to get as much of the money as possible so I was leaning toward a direct-to-vendor purchase. I’m glad I did. Installing the aircraft was as painless as buying it from the Marketplace.
