MSFS was working fine last week, but now 90% of my flights that I create from the world map screen will not load past 50% on the blue progress bar before it stalls out.
Are there any tips or tricks to get past this? Yes i emptied the community folder and turned off the anti virus.
Any tips or tricks?
Same problem here. About every 2nd flight the loading bar stops + the loading circle freezes, then I have to kill MSFS with task manager and start over. Not sure what;s causing this as there’s no log created by MSFS (as far as I can tell)
From what I heard you need to disconnect your internet when the bar stops and it will load offline. Once loaded, turn on the internet and choose live weather if you want that activated.
If it is for one aircraft then does that aircraft use WASM? If so it may need to compile on first use after any patching. That can take a while.
That’s the only time I’ve had it be slow.
The same here, first time it stuck, kill msfs with taskmanager, re-run msfs and the second time it works well. It appens 9 times on 10.

I’ve had this happen as well. Just like you, I’ve had to kill the sim through the task manager and restart it, then it works. No idea what is causing it yet.
Are there any work arounds for this other than turning off the internet when loading
Empty your Community Mod folder. Chances are it’s stuck loading a Mod, that’s a little over 8/10 times root cause for loading issues. That also includes any external connected programs via SimConnect or FSUIPC.
If you happen to have Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V2 in your community folder try removing and see if it fixes it. It did for me and is a known issue
Thank you. However I have not had this issue ever until this week
This is happening to me as well. Disconnecting internet does not resolve the freeze-up in my case. I’ve tried every other “fix” suggested too but nothing works. One suggestion was removing my custom controller config, but all I have is a game controller. I have this unplugged when the flights are loaded, and it still freezes. I even tried re-installing MSFS itself, but the problem remained.
The only way to get out of the lockup is by entering task manager to kill the MSFS process itself. I’ve tried removing items in the community folder to find which one might be causing this, but I’ve had no luck. It doesn’t seem to be related to any single add-on. Perhaps there is a conflict involving the presence of 3 specific add-on all at once? All I know is, the more add-ons I have in my community folder, the more the likelihood it will lock up when loading a flight. I can remove all or most of my add-ons and it becomes 100% reliable. But the more I add, of any sort, the more the chance of a freeze up. This all started around when I upgraded to SU11. But I can’t be sure that is the cause because that’s around when I started adding a lot of new scenery and aircraft to my community folder. Perhaps there is some performance issue being hit with MSFS SU11 when a certain number of add-ons are loaded at once. If anyone figures, this out, let me know, but in the meantime, the only fix I know of is to load only the add-ons I’ll be needing each time using MSFS.

Go into C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and delete 2 files called hosts, and lmhosts . This worked for me. FS2020 works great now. I don’t know where these 2 files come from but somehow effects the sim.
Sim does not freeze anymore.
Evidently it is the loading bug fix ia for anyone that installed the google map mod at some point.
Hallo Bigtasty73076,
Im using the google map mod. Now I delete these two files: hosts and Imhosts.sam. (Like you say it) Now the blue loading bar works fine for me.
Thank you very much for this easy workaround

The use of the Map Mod is not recommended or discussed in this forum. Closing this thread.
