I just bought a new system and installed Windows 11 pro. Since I want to keep my old system which runs a boxed version of MSFS 2020 I also bought a new online version of MSFS 2020 Deluxe online. After installation nothing happens. Nada absolutely nothing. I tried to uninstall and re-install it but that did not help. As far as I can see all updates of Windows 11 and the app store are done. When trying to start MSFS nothing happens. No error, nothing to see in the event viewer and no trace of it in the task manager. So how can I get MSFS working ?
1 Update OS via windows update.
2 Download and install drivers: chipset, lan, audio, gpu.
3 Install gaming services
4 Install Xbox app
5 Install MSFS via Xbox app
Thank you for the tip.
All drivers are installed.
I cannot find “gaming services” any where to install. Also not via web search.
I did uninstall MSFS and installed it via the Xbox app. It did install MSFS again but trying to start it has the same result as with the MS store installation.
Had same issue after updating to Win 11. This helped me:

I could find “gaming services” now and installed it. I also re-installed MSFS from the Xbox app.
But still no difference. MSFS does not start and not errors any where.

I would say that, “MSFS not starting” is a bug. How can it be reproducible when there’s not even an error message or log file that provides any hints on why the program does not start ?
Also it is difficult to find similar posts in this type of forum.
Since I’m a paying customer I really demand some official support from Microsoft not just to be pushed away like this to a community category where the officials don’t care if anything works for their customer or not.
It’s another of uncountable times that I’ve been disappointed to no end with Microsoft.
All of the software is from the same software house in it’s unaltered state with no 3rd party add-ons or software installed.
I really don’t know why I keep buying your stuff.

Hi!
I have the same issue. I was playing MSFS every day on my win10 laptop, now I got my new win11 notebook and installed MSFS as I used to before and when I hit “Play” there’s nothing is happening, not even an error message. I’ve reinstall the game and the xbox bar even the store app but still nothing Have you solve the problem or is there anyone who knows what to do? I have up to date system drivers etc… but not any idea what to do next
Hello,
I ended up re-installing Windows 11. But I also bought a boxed version of MSFS. It didn’t really make a difference because the boxed version also installs from the MS Store. But it appears to me that this is mostly a Windows 11 / MS Store problem. I’m not sure why re-installing Windows helped, but it did. Good luck.
I Solved it: After my BIOS had been updated the time was incorrect, and I have reinstalled the game service, after then it was working properly
Here is how to reinstall game service:
Start button then type PowerShell and run as admin
type:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
then type:
start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
then it offers to install MS game service again, do it so then reboot the system est voila c’est fini
Good luck everyone
This procedure has been posted several times. When I had this issue the procedure did not solve it.
And how you could solve the issue? My problem was basicly the wrong time zone or ckock settings after a BIOS update
I don’t really know what effectively solved the problem. From my point of view it was simply reinstalling Windows. Why it worked after the re-installation ? don’t know
I tried this but the second command returned an error:
start : This command cannot be run due to the error: Package could not be registered.

First. In your Windows Search Bar. Type Powershell, and open Windows Powershell as an administrator.
You can use Control+C to copy, and Control+V to paste these commands
Run System File Checker. sfc /scannow
Run DISM. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
if this comes up with an error. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
After complete. Re-run command to install MS Store
I have the same problem did all the latsest updates, still no go, went back to win 10 and all is back to normal, well done M.S. !!!
