Pretty simple question all. I loaded up the sim one day and it was running at 10fps. The previous flight it was smooth as butter. I have not changed a single setting or added anything new. It just happened out of the blue. The only thing going on with the PC is that is has a windows update pending. When I run the update, the update always has an error. I wanted to see if anyone had feedback before I conduct a complete system reset.
So far, I’ve cleared all my Nvidia Cache and MSFS caches and that’s it. May try a graphics driver update as well before I do the reset
Thanks,
Dave Freeman
Check the sim again and see if it persists.
Often times a restart will result in solving the issue.
I notice that whenever I update my NVidia driver, the FS2020 Graphics settings are changed. I just hit “Reset to defaults” and that generally gets it back to where I had it before.
Try this first:
1-Go to services and search for Windows Update (Right click and stop the service)
2-Go to the following route:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
Delete the content inside (All)
Try searching for that update again and install.

Certainly try all these.
If setup changes don’t work you may want to benchmark your GPU and CPU. Many devices will detect overheating and will slow down or stop to protect themselves. Maybe check your fans.
See if MSFS is slow for some reason, or maybe the computer itself is.
