MSFS reboots PC: where to find logs and where to find help?

Since the last update MSFS reboots the PC whenever I try to run MSFS. The screen goes black and I get an instant reboot.

I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and reinstalled MSS from scratch. I managed to run it twice and then I decided to install the UK update. After that I get these instant reboots again… The last few times I get them when I load a flight, so the game reboots the PC whenever I end up in the cockpit and click on the screen to get going OR it already reboots during the loading process.

Anyone knows where to find logs I could check to find out what’s going wrong with my PC…? Must be hardware related, I suppose. Although it is odd I did manage to do a few flights before I installed the UK update.

HELP!

In the tree on the left, you’re looking for the subfolder as in my screenshot below.

The relevant would be a Red and White X symbol and Stop Event related to flightsimulator.exe.

The error itself may or may not point to a second source as the cause of the Stop Event. Most times, it’s a circular reference, that flightsimulator.exe itself caused the problem, but the Error Code is not specific as to why.

Nonetheless, start with the last STOP event that occurred after you installed World Update 3. Pull all of them if there will multiple ones. One may have useful information.

If the game is rebooting your PC then it’s most likely a hardware issue. Monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU while you are running the game.

Try the power supply too, OCP could cause a reboot as well.

Thanks for that information. I found two reoccuring errors. One is noted twice in the view, at the exact same time, and the other is noted a second later. This is the first critical error:

I find entries of these three everytime the PC rebooted. Any idea what it all means?

EDIT
Translation of this line" “Het systeem is opnieuw opgestart zonder eerst correct te zijn afgesloten. Deze fout is mogelijk veroorzaakt doordat het systeem niet meer reageert of is vastgelopen of doordat de stroom is uitgevallen.” is " The system has rebooted without properly shutting down first. This error may have been caused by the system becoming unresponsive, frozen, or power loss."

The error is a little tough - it’s just saying the system was not cleanly shut down - root cause is not specified however.

Are there any flightsimulator.exe related events?

Per the other posts in this thread, you may be looking at an overstressed or on the verge of failing power supply unit. That’s one place to start. Moving to a larger PSU wouldn’t hurt over time.

Okay, thanks, I will check out the PSU, maybe with some benchmark, or I will simply replace it…!

Check also the reliability report. Probably show you the same info but worth a look.
