Msfs startup progress bar around 75% CTD happens without an error, even in safe mode

Hi,

I’m facing the same issue here, when progressbar is at 3/4 I suddenly get a CTD from msfs. I tried reinstalling but that didn’t help.

I tried deleting a cache folder I found in C:/xboxGames/flightsimulator and after that I was able to enter the game for once and see the menu until it crashed again, now I’m stuck again at square one. I can’t delete the cache content again since they don’t get re-generated apparently

Any help would be highly appreciated!

This is my laptop specs:
Laptop: DELL XPS 15 9500
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-10750H (12) @ 5,00 GHz
GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile [Discrete]
GPU 2: Intel UHD Graphics @ 1,15 GHz [Integrated]
Memory: ~64 GiB

Worst case cenario is waiting for msfs 2024 and try again

It looks like you forgot to mention which devices you’re connecting to the laptop

For testing purpose change to google DNS
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

It looks like you forgot to mention which devices you’re connecting to PC.

What do you mean by “devices”, do you mean keyboard, mouse, monitor’s etc?

Peripherals mate.

Again I’m using a laptop, no external devices are connected.

What about joystick, throttle, VR …?

I’m not trying to be rude, i’m just frustrated that msfs doesn’t work for some magical reason. But AGAIN I’m not using any external devices when starting up the sim.

And what does that have to do with the CTD, I don’t think that that’s the reason why msfs fails. I’m having the CTD during the startup(before menu page) of the game, not DURING flight.

Peripherals can cause CTDs. For example, a recent update to the Meta Oculus software can cause CTDs during MSFS loading just as you described.

I recommend welcoming any kind of question to your post as the answers may help your inquiring fellow simmers to narrow down the cause of your issue even though it may not be making apparent sense to you immediately.

I don’t have it installed, neither am I using any external devices. But I was aware of this issue tho

I can’t believe it, I had this weird CTD because my time wasn’t up synced. This is because I frequently switch from linux and windows and I use a external clock if I need to know the time.

I have played a flight training and started it second time and works smoothly, thanks!!!

For the people encountering the same problem, follow the mentioned guide above: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406039624338-How-to-fix-loading-issues-after-clicking-Play

An accurate clock is required for certain crypto functions.
