MSFS stuck on “Checking for Updates” on Installation Manager

I downloaded MSFS from Steam to my PC back in May.I have had very few issues until yesterday.I I did the mandatory updates last week and flew with no issues on Thursday.I went to fly yesterday and the MSFS program will open through steam but it is stuck on Checking for updates screen through the installation manager.I have read and tried all of the recommended fixes without success.I would greatly appreciate any thoughts? Thanks in advance

I have suffered this for months and none of the fixes work because it´s an online problem and it´s random. The game can´t get the information about the latest game patch and there´s no timed exit from that situation so it stays there forever. The only way to bypass the never ending loop is to disable the network adapter and enable it afterwards. However you will most like face another of those loops when game is about 100% loading (before reaching the menu). So I just kill the process which is faster. When we are lucky a Xbox app update mitigates the issue for some time but it´s reproduced few days afterwards anyway.

In addition to this the Australia WU has a wrong version dependency (I think it was on the DA62 aircraft) which makes things even worse, as that dependency will never be found in the checking for updates process as the official version of the aircraft is another one.

I reported both things during beta and they went into the regular bug list so SU10 did not solve it.

Cheers

Thank you Geloxo for your response. After all the research I have done and then applied them without resolution I knew this was / is a problem.

I have the same problem, i open the game, and never can i get passed installation manager. I have tried everything and i am about to give up. you should not have to be a software engineer to operate the game!! does anyone have a rock solid solution for this problem?

Although it took me almost a week I was able to correct the problem yesterday.I had decided to uninstall the MSFS from Steam and reinstalled. After I did the uninstall I wanted to make sure I had completely removed all of the MSFS files from my pc.While I was looking for the files I found the following file-c:\Users\Bowen\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator \Packages\Official\Steam.
I had read during my research if you could find and remove this file it might solve the problem.
I removed it and all remaining MSFS files from my pc .I then went into Steam to reinstall MSFS and it began working on the reinstall. It took several hours and it also included the mandatory update.
I did fly last night with no issues!
Needless to say this was very time consuming but at least I was able to correct the problem.
I have read so many “fixes” that I do not remember where I read this one but I thank you for your recommendation!
I hope this might be helpful to others!
