MSFS Tutorial Compilation

Since the release of MSFS2020, I’ve been saving & compiling a list of the best tutorials I can find, as I obsessively try to learn. In looking at my playlist today, which consists of over 150 videos now, it has dawned on me that I should share this with the community. Hopefully, this will help some of you discover some new content creators, or learn something new about your favorite aircraft, or approach technique, cold & dark starts, etc.

As for organizing the playlist, there is a method behind the madness. They are sorted first by content provider. If the provider has aircraft-specific content, I try to sort that content in order of aircraft progression as best I can (ie Cessna 152 → Boeing 787). I also try to sort by procedure (cold & dark start → approach & landing).

Be aware that there is a lot of redundancy here, so you might find half a dozen videos on starting the Airbus from cold & dark. I left these in here intentionally, as content providers have different levels of expertise, and different delivery styles. You might learn something from one that you didn’t learn from another, or you might discover a favorite and stick with them. I have watched the vast majority of these, but am certainly not a real pilot or an expert (hence why I watch so many tutorials to learn), so I may inadvertently include a video with inaccuracies. I will always avoid videos without commentary like the plague. This list will always be a WIP, and I will add content as I am made aware of it.

As a quick-tip for navigating such a large list of videos…CTRL-F brings up the search window for your browser. This will help you find whatever topic you’re interested in. Enjoy.

Update 10/9/2020: Added a couple of series from Into the Blue Simulations, who is a real Airbus pilot with a “Flight School” series in the Cessna 152, and a A320 Autopilot tutorial series.

Update 10/30/2020: Added a series by Easyjetsimpilot, who focuses on the Airbus, Flying Theston, who usually focuses on SDK tutorials, along with a new tutorial series by Pilot Emilie and MANY more videos from the usual content providers.

Update 11/2/2021: Spread out videos to a number of different playlists to make them easier to navigate. Will continue to work with this new format.

I’ve seen many of those videos, but thank you for compiling them into one playlist.
There’s a few YouTubers that I haven’t seen yet.
There goes the rest of my evenings.

Next time you set that autopilot and are at cruise altitude, start learning! That’s what I do.

Really useful. Thanks for your time making this compilation and sharing.

No problem. If a few people get some use out of it, it’s worth it.

Awesome compilation putting these together. The easier it is for newcomers to learn, the better off we’ll be in the long run

I added a couple of series from Into the Blue Simulations, who is a real Airbus pilot with a great “Flight School” tutorial series and an Airbus autopilot series.

Thank you for taking the time to assemble these. I will look them over. FWIW-Have about 20 different channels on YT in my listing so I can check them every day or so. One, is just hot, Captain Emilie. She however is a real Dash 8 Pilot, on furlough now because of COVID. She does a good job. Several others, one gentleman is called “Aviation Pro”, his 787 workup video is one of the best I’ve seen. Although the plane model in MSFS is not nearly as complete as the one he demo’s, it’s still a very informative one.

Thanks. Captain Emilie & Aviation Pro are both represented in the Playlist. I check in on their channels frequently to make sure I haven’t missed anything. If you discover one that I’ve missed, let me know.

Edit: I stand corrected…was thinking of Aviation Jack. Checking out Pro now.

Added a good deal more content, including some new tutorial providers, such as Easyjetsimpilot. Pilot Emilie has started a new tutorial series, so I’ve begun to include those as well.

Thank you so much, great effort . Am I not the only one feeling that tutorials are severely lacking actually within the game ? Previous versions had a lot more content , certification etc …and of course everything was logged . Its pretty overwhelming ! I should spend a few hours just sitting in a plane on the ramp just practicing while perusing the various sources but in all honesty it would be better imbedded in the sim structure ?

Nice compilation.

I stumbled upon P Gatcomb a couple of months ago. He isn’t necessarily in it for the subs, unlike a lot of others. His real world knowledge of GA planes, equipment and procedures make his channel a must watch. He did a great vid explaining the G1000.

Brilliant and thank you for putting this together. Now to get a pen a paper and take some notes!

Thanks, glad you can get some use out of it. I’ll be updating it in the next week to add some additional content and split some off into separate lists.

No problem. I’ll be doing some organizing of these lists soon. Many planes deserve their own playlists now.

Thank you. I’d strongly suggest to add ALL these videos to your list. Videos designed/provided by a Pro Pilot, SIMMER and very professional.

Oh, I’m familiar with them, have watched them, and completely agree. They’ll all be incorporated when I break out the lists.

Nice tutorials, the only commend I can make is that he talks too fast for us non English speakers…

Well, I could say the same for some non-English YouTuber’s accents. Fortunately, YouTube allows you to slow down the video or speed it up to match your needs. I use the feature often.

Without a single doubt in my mind, one of the very best that I’ve seen in 20+ yrs as a simmer and Private Pilot (as a Hobby).
