I am so impressed with MSFS. The 787 Asobo model is so awesome. It is also very realistic. I was offered the chance to fly a $26 mm full motion simulator used to train airline pilots. I was offered no training. Just thrown in the cockpit. Everything felt exactly familiar. It was a little different using the FMC touchpad and not a mouse.
The question was could I fly the real sumulator. Would I crash on landing? Well I got my answer. I can now rest in peace.
Thank you! MSFS is so awesome! I have a lot of friends that are airline pilots flying the 737, 787 and 777. They all tell me that the real plane is easier to fly than the full motion simulator and they quite often mess up their check ride landings.
I find that the real sumulator is easier to fly than MSFS. The real sim is no where near as touchy as MSFS. I guess I need to dial down my sensitivities more.
Welcome, you deserve the kudos! I have never flown an airliner nor its simulator, but I have read plenty about what airline pilots go through in those sweat boxes; they get hammered by instructors failing multiple things in terrible scenarios. We get to enjoy normal flights in the weather of our choosing with no schedule pressure or management demands to save on fuel.
The time spent to tweak your controller sensitivities and other settings is time well spent. It can make all the difference in the world, and sometimes changes over time with wear and tear and our own experience gains (or losses LOL). Just this weekend I went back and tweaked some settings on my TM Boeing TCA’s yoke to improve view panning. It never ends LOL, cheers!
