MSFS vs P3D V5 - Visual Comparison

That doesn’t change my point at all. With or without addons, no matter what the sim is, the most important thing is - which sim do I want to spend time playing? I have no desire to compare bullet points.

Then why exactly you’re commenting here? This is pretty literally comparing bullet points.

It’s fine to admit that you’re wrong. :joy:

Because I have opinions?

Saying that a comparison made between two pieces of software in entirely different conditions is relevant isn’t an opinion. It’s simply wrong.

That’s your opinion. I don’t agree.

That’s fine. You’re free to be wrong. I guess p3d fans have to find a way to make themselves feel better nowadays, with all the add-on devs that are jumping ship every week.

As devs said: 95% is new code. It’s a different simulator. End of story.

Let’s equalize things a little bit, shall we?

Let’s add some third-party scenery to the mix.

What a beatdown.

And the added bonus is that the third-party scenery that improves Dubai in MSFS is free :joy:

Ok. I will try again!

Case 1. P3d:

With Global Base, Global Vector, various Global open LC, Global Buildings, Global TerraFlora v2
and various airports.
£1000 or more.

Case 2. MSFS 2020:

Stock. Nothing added.
£58.00

And yet MSFS 2020 is visually superior.

This argument is decided!
All you P3d guys [and I WAS one of them] you need to accept this and move on.

Visually superior to a 2010 product.

I don’t think people are contesting the visual superiority. They say it’s not the most important aspect of a flight simulator for a part of the user base.

Ah, that old chestnut.
First of all, check the name of this thread it specifically uses the word Visual.
Secondly, read the replies and the arguments therein.

And to address your point directly, here’s a quote:

Further, Once MSFS 2020 has been through as many iterations as all the other sims and has had the chance to time ripen, I expect it to be superior in every other way as well.

But this thread is about visuals.

True. But please name me one thread where the posts stay on-topic without numerous other non-constructive complaints being thrown in.

Haha.
Good point.

Visuals are certainly the best thing about this sim otherwise its far from finished. Within 2 to 3 years its going to hopefully have study level planes. This post is like opening a can of worms.

Aside from the fact that according to what developers say, we’re going to have study-level planes at the very least in one year (and it’s very possible that someone beats PMDG to it because they’re not exactly fast. We’re likely gonna have study-level GA before we get study-level airliners), even if we had to wait 2 or 3 years, it’d still be faster than P3D and Xplane, or literally every other commercial sim ever released.

People who lack long-term memory or simply are at their first rodeo bash MSFS for having an unfinished SDK, but ignore or forgot that competing products released eiyher without having any, or with much more barebone SDKs, which makes their posts even more hilarious.

I can actually read. Sorry for digressing from the topic of visuals. You will notice my initial comments have been about visuals and I just went off the rails when people claimed it had no common basis with P3D or FSX, which it obviously has.

Sorry for the confusion.

No worries.
And my apologies if I came across a bit strong.
