MSFS wants to re-install after SU3 using remaining disk space (151GB). Does this mean it will not overwrite files but use up most of the remaining HDD space?
Should I uninstall the whole program and reinstall?
Is there any alternative?
Just copy and paste it in the text box, or drag and drop it if you have it saved as an image file, but I believe you. Not sure what else to try. I would quit, restart the computer, and try repairing the game. You downloaded the store update first, correct? (If non-Steam version)
When I opened the program, ‘update’ was available and automatically started. Is this what you mean by the store update? Others have all been by the same process.
Hi
If I go to Store now, I can see the product V1.14.5.0 shows as ‘modified today’, but when I open the program, it still wants to install from scratch. So it’s downloaded the 5GB OK, but I’m not sure it’s installed the update at all, despite what this says at the Store.
This happened to me last update when steam verified my packages. Is your packages > official folder the size you would expect? Mind was deleted by steam, so that was it. Full download from scratch. Infuriating but at least this time wasn’t Asobo’s fault
P.S. I know you’re MS store version, but just wanted to share
P.P.S. There is a base sim update required from MS Store or Steam, then you boot the sim and another update will download. Then go to content manager in the sim and there will be updates there too.
I understand what you mean…Unfortunately I can’t get to content mgr as the boot up now goes straight to the installation process…so now the game never completes opening correctly.
Have you successfully installed the MS store base sim update? That has to be done first before launching the simulator and updating there. I understand that can be tricky in itself (MS store can be poop) so someone with experience of that would need to offer you advice on that front.
I remember someone saying that they had to click “play” in the Ms store and that triggered the base update…
thanks for your help. I ended up uninstalling and cleaning up the disk, then re-installing (16 hours this time) but all ok now thanks. But I’ll keep in mind your comments if this occurs again.
