I have the steam version of MSFS and last week it stopped going in to VR with ctrl tab. I went through all settings trying to figure this out and nothing worked, so I set my computer back to a restore point that I knew it worked. That didn’t do anything so in the end I done a complete windows 11 reset and setup oculus, steam, msfs and after all that it still won’t open when I click ctrl tab. I have been to the option VR and click the VR there and still nothing, I have deleted ctrl tab and set it up again and still nothe headse joy. I’ve reseIt the quest 2. I always click MSFS before I do the ctrl tab to make sure it has the focus. I have tried developer mode and no developer mode, upgraded to the latest developer mode. I have all the updates for steam, oculus, windows and MSFS. I am using the oculus link. I can get in to any of my other steam pcvr games. I’d love any other suggestions of what I could try.
I had the same problem after the latest Sim update. But once the new Nvidia game drivers were released, the problem was fixed. I’m not if this will help as I don’t know what type of GPU you have, but maybe a driver update/reinstall will help.
Hi Taupe,
thank you for your help. I have 2 RTX 2080S and have everything up to date including the new Nvidia Gaming Driver.
Is Oculus set as your OpenXR runtime? See steps here (look at the Oculus steps, not the WMR steps!):
Thank you for your help mbucchia. I just checked and under general settings - OpenXR Runtime - it says Oculus is set at the active OpebXR Runtime. Can I use MRP/WMR instaed of Oculus software?
No Oculus is the right thing, this is what you want for Quest 2.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
Thank you everyone for your help. I eventually figured out what the problem was and thought I’d post the solution here incase anyone else has the same issue. I have 2 GPU’s and the wrong card was the issue. I had the 2nd GPU setup for MSFS so the other would work on everything else. The solution:
Go to Settings/System/Display/Graphics/FlightSimulator and pick High Performance if Flightsimulator isn’t there you can browse for it under Add an app.
