Firstly, Hello! Let me just start by saying I’m very excited to join the sim community and more importantly the msfs community!
Im eagerly waiting for MSFS to grace our beloved xbox store and game pass library ever since I caught a glimps some stage back in 2020 as it was featured in the ‘comming soon’ tab, but as quick as the pc release happened it disappeared from our console store, and to the best of my efforts never herd a peep, until news came forward that not only was it comming, but it was comming soon!
So along with news of MSFS comming so was word of 3rd party Devs for peripherals such as honeycomb aeronauticals entry’s alpha/bravo and Charlie combos. Their in-the-works Foxtrot and tango too. What fine pieces of kit, and according to almost every post or YouTube I ither read or viewed they were spoken highly of.
Straight out of E3 drops another nice looking peice of kit, the Turtle Beach Velocity one. Its similar with a 180 degree yolk and throttle quadrant, trim wheel, programmable buttons, LCD display in the yolk that integrates into msfs etc. This kit looks cool as and being a bit more accessible to me then the honey combe combos, but a few questions are floating around for me.
One. Am I the only one getting excited for the Velocity one? I’ve caught the hype train hard and obviously I’m not going to jump the gun here and I’ll make an informed decision as to which units I finally decided to choose.
Two. With these units only 4 odd weeks from a full scale retail release, has anyone even seen them out in the wilds? Any pre release press release units hitting the bloggers, you tubers of the like? I can respect things like certain NDAs getting around but nothing?
Three. For those of you who are aware of the features of the Velocity one, what’s your thoughts on the fact is has integrated rudder Control? I couldn’t find any info about there being any support for external pedals and things of that nature.
I currently own a Thrustmaster Hotas one, Which I’ve being using in Elite Dangerous on the xbox for a short time, and loving it. so I’m looking forward from day one being able to ditch the standard controller and get immersed in msfs.
I’ve been watching more and more streamers using yolks and quadrants in msfs and I’d love to get into that down the track so just starting my homework. Im just excited that quality manufactures are developing hardware for the xbox, what are you’re thoughts guys and girls?
