On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being best), how do you rate your Overall Enjoyment of this aircraft?
Just tried the A310 on Xbox series X. Performance definitely the best of all the airliners on the sim at the moment. Very smooth with no stuttering. Only issue was the sim froze after around an hour of flight time. A few bugs:
Pitot probe centre and right are turned on when in cold and dark state
Pack sounds are inverted (can hear them when off and not when they are on)
Switch sounds are very loud compared to everything else
Engine 2 sound almost non-existent in exterior view. Generally quite quiet outside compared to in cockpit
Blue hydraulic system does not work, even though gauges show normal pressure. Tried normal engine start, ready for takeoff panel state, as well as turning on the electric pump and PTUs. System shows 0 psi pressure.
Have flown this IRL for 7 years, so my focus might be slightly different, but trying to stick to gameplay and basic realism some feedback:
Faulty spoiler logic: after landing with spoilers armed, spoilers should retract when thrust levers are advanced. We used this as an (inofficial) method for spoiler retraction, but it is absolutely essential when flying a go-around after touchdown, or touch and go during flight training. In real life, this bug could kill you, but the iniBuilds A310 climbs very nicely with ground spoilers extended ;o)
FPV needs calibration: we like to use the Flight Path Vector for visual approaches, swing-over etc. When maintaining altitude, this should be centered on the line, it is just another indication for vertical speed. When flying a turn with this aircraft, I have to pull it significantly above the line to maintain altitude, which is nonsense. FPV can have errors in heading but is quite precise in vertical speed, so this should be fixed. FPV on other aircraft (B787, F-18) works very well, but all iniBuilds Airbus aircraft seem to be affected by this bug.
GPWS mode 1 (“Sink rate”) triggers way too early - around 950 fpm iso 1500 fpm near the ground. In any case, approaches up to 4.5 deg should be possible without deactivating the system.
Flight model: N1 seems generally 3-5% too high, but especially the thust increase required to maintain altitude in a turn is too much (should be 2% or less).
Flight model: With the negative pitch of the main gear boogies, touchdown with a crab angle should create a very rough and noisy feedback, feels like a hard landing
Flight model: With touchdown at speed, spoiler extension should generate a noticable pitch-up moment - a special A310 (and A300) characteristic that might be difficult to implement
Systems: Blue HYD u/s as reported above
Sim rate: Fuel flow and on-board clock don’t consider sim rate. That means: crossing the pond at sim rate 4 will reduce your fuel consumption by 75% and you will be looking at an overweight landing. Applies to all iniBuilds Airbus aircraft, especially the A330 as well!
Simbrief: please bring back the direct Simbrief flight plan import for EFB & FMC! A330 has it…
Eyepoint: as with most MSFS airliners, the eyepoint is a bit too low for pilot flying duties.
Visual: for my taste, too much wear & tear inside and outside. But thank you for the lovely Pan Am livery!
Otherwise an impressive work of 3D modelling, and absolutely worth to fix most of the points mentioned above.
first flight with this one in 2024, 1:30 flight
works pretty well all things considered,
apparently it crashes the sim when exiting the flight (did it two times) it gets stuck in the woosh animation, i have to kill the game
reflections on the windshield extremely distracting
takeoff calculator doesnt seem to work
efb weights and payload don’t sim to be synced with the a/c
sounds seem to be a bit off all around, eg: i get an altitude call out on the ready to fly screen (i think its 400), master alarm is still way too loud (carryover from 2020), with the apu on and apu bleed off there is some fan in the cockpit really loud
when i spawn on the runway, left engine seems to be finishing its starting sequence, the same happens with the a320v2
the mip flood light could do with a setting between 0 and 5%
just spawned at the runway, this time the left engine was completely off and no Blue pressure. Started the engine but blue pressure didn’t come up no matter what.
