[MSFS2024] Airbus A330 (-200, -300, -300P2F)

I’ll have to try the GE model out and see if it’s any different on the taxi thrust. Regarding the nose gear, now that you mention it, it did come down pretty quickly. IRL it’s easy to hold it off but I found it came down fairly quick even with full back pressure. You’re spot on with landing the main gear, and yes you reduce aft stick just a little bit to allow the nose to start coming down after the mains touch. You don’t want to keep it high too long because as you slow down, naturally your elevator authority starts to reduce and if the nose gear starts derotating too quick, you might not have enough elevator to arrest the descent even at full aft stick. After the mains touch, reduce aft stick and let the nose start coming down and as it gets close, gradually keep adding back stick until you feel it touch, then go back to neutral. At medium auto brakes, it comes down very quick and you often need almost full aft stick within a couple seconds to stop it from slamming down, but low brakes it should be very controllable. The sim felt like what a medium autobrake would feel like.

That’s awesome thank you. Will give that a go next flight

For winds, I was speaking to a friend about it as we were doing a transatlantic together and wind request doesn’t seem to work for ETOPS waypoints and they need entered manually. Always a bit worrying taking off with a negative EFOB but it always works out in the end

Maybe it’s worth asking on the IniBuilds discord to clarify whether it’s a partially implemented feature (just cosmetic) or if it really has an impact on the calculations.
I remember that in MSFS2020 entering the wind component in the INIT B page was merely decorative, but now in 2024 it seems to me that it changes the fuel consumption calculation.

Now that you mention it, I saw that you tried the RR version. I normally use the GE version.
When I tried the RR version, I also thought it sounded much better than the GE, but maybe that was just me.

It sounds much better on the RR. Reverse thrust sounds are absent on the GE, also the spool up time on both aircraft is completely unrealistic you can be at 50% N1 in 3 seconds.

Just had a quick go in the RR variant of the freighter and it definitely doesn’t taxi as fast in idle compared to the GE, even when relatively light as I was

Also the RR engines have definitely got a better sound to them. Much more of that buzz saw

Just landed the A330-200 RR on KMIA.

The sound are really better on the RR compared with the GE. Regarding the spool time, I’m not a pilot so can’t give an opinion.

If anyone is interested:

Its regarding flap 1+f positioning and the flap extension and retraction animation speed.

You’re spot on! The Rolls Royce engine sounds better in comparison, but overall, the engine noise in both variants is really weak and low-quality. It feels like the developers didn’t put much effort into it at all. If you’re someone like me who cares a lot about engine sound, inibuilds definitely disappoint you.

I like RR engines sound, GE engines sound a little “meh”. But my big issue with Ini is not the sounds but the mix.
The A320neo have good sounds, but the fans are too loud on the cabin and you can barely ear the radio.
The A321 and the A330 GE have engines sound so low, they are almost lost on the mix.

I think the best solution cound be Microsoft/Asobo allowing IniBuilds to put back the sound mixer on the EFB (like the first release of the A320) so we can adjust to our preference the volume of the different sounds.

Found a minor issue, but it caused a little confusion for me.
The text GNR CTRL SPRS at the weather radar section seems to be wrong and should be removed.
Looking at videos from Youtube of the A330, it’s also not there.

Fuel burn is still messed up for those of us that fly with time compression. With time at 4x and 8x, I get to my destination and have only burned fuel at 1x so I am over the max landing weight usually. I know iniBuilds have acknowledged this issue, and hopefully we can get a fix in SU2.

I’ve done two flights on the A330-300GE yesterday and today (live build) and noticed I don’t get ANY radio callouts at all, not even the famous “Retard”, I didn’t get V1 callout too.

Same here with A330-300GE.

Hi,
Any though on why I have this menu using the mouse on autopilot (2 first pics) while others have the up / down arrows like we had in FS2020? Any way to change this? Thanks

Taken from a tutorial:

Are you on Xbox? The tutorial screenshot looks to be from PC where you can change the mouse pointer style

I’m on PC. So I guess the change can be made in the command setting section, mouse menu?

I’m not sure I’m afraid - could even be a mod. They’ve definitely turned off tooltips but that’s all that I know as I’m on Xbox but I recognise the changing mouse pointer from the PMDG operating manuals

I think is the interaction mode: legacy/fixed
and the tooltip display, you can set it to off if you don’t like the tooltips.

Can´t confirm, because on Xbox is “stuck” on fixed and you can´t change it on live version (SU1) and if you touch it on SU2, your setting get messed.

Anyone has a copilot on board ? I’m alone in the cockpit only in this bird.

check if you have a copilot enabled on your profile.
